Days and days of refactoring are taking their toll on me

;( That sucks man. I've been there

At least it's not super slow anymore. Still not at the point of rebuilding features though.

Case and GPU showed up today. HDD tomorrow.
Thinking about buying PSU for Saturday.
After that, though, I have no more money to finish the build

Sell your body on the streets. ;D

Looks like that's the only way to go

9:16 PM
Or organs, you can get a couple of million for certain ones on the black market.

couple of million for organs :O
where do I apply
I don't need some of my stuff

Like I'd know. >.>
I think a person is worth 6 million in body parts.

doesn't it depend on blood type too?

If you are going to downvote a answer, it just might be helpful if you actually told me why you downvoted. Just sayin'.
answer*
But no.

A: Single or multiple inheritance for game world objects

Aidan MuellerMultiple inheritance In C++, you generally want to avoid multiple inheritance. It can really add complexity to your code. Especially when you include two objects that have the same base class. Alternative to multiple inheritance In Java, you can use interfaces in most of the cases were you may...

I don't think so?

9:21 PM
Just downvote and leave me without the slightest clue as to why my information is incorrect.
@Lasse Do you think that my information is invalid? I mainly touched on why you generally want to avoid multiple inheritance.
I just do not understand this.

I don't know

The internet is a fickle place. Where even the friendliest of people have enemies.

OK. I think I see how I could improve it.
I once saw a youtube comment: "X people thought that the dislike button said 'dis I like' "

I like the "more classes" solution better, but only if it fits
generally I just want some entity class that can take in a name and some properties like model and maybe scripts
and load them from file
for example in my block renderer, I got BufferObject class, and then I have VertexBufferObject class that inherits the BufferObject, and ElementBufferObject that also inherits the BufferObject
But that's because they share some common things, but work very differently

Pip
heyo
@Lasse yep
this is so fucking frusterating

9:36 PM
@Pip What is malware tycoon about?

Pip
think game dev tycoon but making malware
no story yet tho

@Pip But does it contain malware?

who the fuck is david

what is that glove
I wouldn't want to wear a glove like that

it's one of those PowerFap(tm) tools

Pip
9:41 PM
@AidanMueller nope

also I've tried using the SE app on android, and it was crap then
I wonder if they have updated it

@AlexM. David after the dentist?

it seems they have updated it
oh, it wasn't that app at all
no wonder then

^ rule of thumb for my avatars: if character is looking left to the viewer or slightly left, it gets placed slightly to the right
analogous for right
if it's a direct look, it gets placed in the center
sometimes I waste 20+ mins on positioning :'(

@AidanMueller Your opening statement is potentially misleading, implying that polymorphism in general is bad. You also fail to discuss virtual inheritance which address the "deadly diamond" I presume you are referring to in your opening statement. It also sounds like you are advocating pushing functionality up the inheritance tree, creating god objects, which is generally a bad design.

9:46 PM
I am already fixing it.
I realize this.

user4704
Those are the big issues that stand out to me on first glance, they might be why you got downvoted.

@JoshPetrie Still, I was mainly concerned with the fact that they didn't bother to leave a message.
@AlexM. @Lasse And I agreed that we are starting to see you as an anime character.

I don't mind

user4704
@AidanMueller It happens.

user4704
Gotta get used to it.

9:53 PM
half of my dev lately has been about extending unity's editor
feels so meta

People say Java is repetitive. Maybe.
JavaObject javaObject = JavaObjectProvider.getNewJavaObject(javaObjectProperties.getJavaObjectProperties());

@AlexM. A guy who has a PowerGlove. Also the VP of engineering at Stack Exchange. But mostly a guy with a PowerGlove.

19 mins ago, by Alex M.
it's one of those PowerFap(tm) tools
I was so close :O

what is a powerglove
I found only this
The Power Glove is a controller accessory for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The Power Glove was not popular and was criticized for its imprecise and difficult-to-use controls. Development The Power Glove was originally released in 1989. Though it was an officially licensed product, Nintendo was not involved in the design or release of this accessory. Rather, it was designed by Grant Goddard and Samuel Cooper Davis for Abrams Gentile Entertainment (AGE), made by Mattel in the United States who had made a failed attempt at a similar design for Nintendo earlier. Mattel brought in H...

@Lasse I believe the power glove is just something that most people see as a thingy that lets you punch stuff hard and has all sorts of batman-utility belt stuff on it and is attached to your arm.

10:06 PM
like a mobile phone?

OK. I need to edit XD

ah, something like that

Kind of like a hoverboard: exactly what it sounds like.

it sounds like broken bones

Like the power glove in tekkit, really.
.

10:11 PM
There is a power glove oven mitt on indiegogo.

A: Just found out my 13 year old girl is Bi and dating a 17 year old girl in an "open" relationship. Huh? Now what?

Matt Moran17 is way too old for a 13 year old to be dating, and 13 is far to young for a 17 year old - the rule of thumb is: min_age = (your_age / 2) + 7 where your_age > min_age so for a 17yo that's 8.5 + 7 = 15.5. Reversing the formula for a 13yo gives a smaller result (<13), so max_age for 13 is 13....

lol

@Lasse I guess like this:

yeah I got the idea

@AlexM. Uhh? Okay......
Confused a bit on that formula.

as an engineer I approve the formula
though I want some tweakable parameters I can use for my own preferences
someone should write a c++ function as a comment for that

Q: How to handle 10 year old boy who has fallen in love?

gowriMy Nephew is doing 5th standard schooling and is a 10 year old boy. He is normally doesn't do too much, mostly playing video games and watching movies. He's education progress is also good. Yesterday, I heard about his embarrassing behavior from my sister and she really worried about it. When I...

> How to explain this is not love!?
this is how poor quality programmers are made guys

Lies and slander!
;D

Why are you browsing parenting? haha

the only valid answer to most questions there would be
"Sorry, you are not yet able to raise a child."

10:40 PM
meh why is this so hard
I can't find a library that renders html to texture just by giving it some html and css
these examples for example
it's not really simple
and it has it's own message loops and all that crap
why I just can't have a class HTMLRenderer that has method Render(string html, string css); or something

11:33 PM

Damn, Gnomey knows some good stuff.

@ClassicThunder Sort of like that, yes. It's just java, I need C#

@Lasse Did you end up giving up on LibGDX?

11:44 PM
@hasherr No, I just decided to try some other projects. It was a learning experiment :P

Oh, alright. Didn't know if you were just trying it or sticking with it :P

@ClassicThunder Which google search terms did you use? I didn't find that

"C# render html as image"
My googlefu is strong :p

lol

youtube.com/… is one my favorite dubstep songs.

11:47 PM
@ClassicThunder Both of those examples are using winforms :(

Really? I think its using this project htmlrenderer.codeplex.com

Yeah, I believe that requires winforms

Hmm I think it just offers winform controls, I don't think the renderer it self requires them.
"100% managed code and no external dependencies."

Oh
hmm
Well, that helps with my GUI library V2
@ClassicThunder Thanks :)

np. glad to help
what are you using? monogame?

11:55 PM
Pure OpenGL through OpenTK
