@Glen_b I guess getting the marshall badge is easier for low-rep users who not yet have access to the close-review queue. For them every flag counts as far as I remember. Of course everyone has their favorite badges. I love the necromancer badge because I feel happy that after such a long time I still found something unanswered and people liked it :-)

@Andy Thanks for your kind remarks. By comparison, whuber has got over 200 at least 33 times - many of them in the last six months, and he usually restricts himself to only one question in a day. I don't know how he does it. That's quality.
There's a tension between trying to help more people asking questions versus giving fewer, higher quality answers and performing better curation of the site. I think whuber (and many of the other veterans of the site) have consistently leaned toward the fewer higher quality answers, even though that must frequently mean not answering questions they have a fantastic answer for ...
(one need only read whuber's comments to see evidence of this - they frequently say more in the first 20 words than the best answer). I think for the value of the site over the longer term that tendency to focus on the highest of quality is mostly the right choice, even if it means that our lowish answer rate is perhaps even a little lower.
