Q: Explain the plane scene in The Dark Knight Rises?

Vijin PaulrajIn The Dark Knight Rises, at the beginning of the film Bane kidnapped a guy from the plane, then he draw the blood from the guy he kidnapped. And then throughout the movie I didn't see any news regarding this kidnap scene. But, before the end of the movie I'm getting to know that, the guy kidnapp...

Q: Was the opening scene in Dark Knight Rises in the original script?

ClaytonI know it was a great scene and established where the Dr. came from but it wasn't really necessary. If you take that scene out, Bane's first reveal is in the sewer. Was the opening plane scene an added action sequence to start the movie with a bang rather than a speech about Dent?

Q: One Piece: Who is Monkey D Luffy's mom?

Bhuvan RikkaWho is Monkey D Dragon's wife/Luffy's mother? Buggy The Clown mentioned that Silvere Rayliegh is Luffy's uncle. This implies that Rayliegh's sister should be Dragon's wife! Why didn't Eichiro Oda introduce her yet??

Q: Is it historically true that Ip Man killed a Japanese General?

BROYIn the film “Ip Man” (2008), Ip Man fights Japanese Army general Miura in a martial arts match and beats him. Is that incident historically true?

@tylershads looking at sites still in beta?

4:43 PM
@DForck42 Further proving that they dont know what they're doing with this stuff

@TylerShads well they are just sorta making it up as they go

Then they should at least say so not "If you hit these markers you graduate" or "We'll graduate you when the time is right"

@TylerShads heh
i honestly think the major part of a site graduating is it growing a community of users that actively participate and stay
if you look at all sites and sort by traffic, the singularity of becoming a full site happens around 5k visits a day, with afew exceptions above and below the threshhold

Mathematicamathematica.stackexchange.com

not much better than our own

Q: How did the police department survive?

NobbyHere's another aspect from The Dark Knight Rises that I was confused about (at the risk of getting overly picky). During the course of the film, the Gotham PD is trapped by Bane underground, and it is up to Blake to keep them informed via numerous cut scenes of him threading fishing lines down s...

@TylerShads Re: movies.stackexchange.com/a/3495/209 We saw the top of one of those supply drops. Blake attacks one of them near the end of the film. Teal'c and cronies show up and retake it before Batman shows up to back Blake up.
Which I now see you partially acknowledge, but then end that paragraph with 'they get supplies from somewhere'?
Ah, that pallet scene specifically you're referring to. Don't mind me.

7:22 PM
trolololololol
I mean where did they have the space to lower a pallet of food, surely not through a manhole

@TylerShads Optical illusion! It was a surprisingly small pallet.

omfg you're right!

TDKR questions will be so much easier to answer when research doesn't take 3 hours and $10. Being able to fast forward/rewind and take screenshots will greatly improve the quality of answers.
I'm glad I saw it twice, as it made me more certain of many details in the movie, that many people missed.
I especially welcome the future analysis of the entire trilogy as a single long work.

oh true treu
i love digital editions + windows snipp tool

@TylerShads I'm a recent switcher to Macs. Watching something on my iPad, I can take a screenshot on that, and poof, the screenshot shows up in iPhoto shortly thereafter. Then I can crop and upload.

@Keen I had an iMac, hated it. Have an iPhone, love it. Want an iPad, will probably never use it because i have an amazing gaming machine

@TylerShads If I didn't read comic books, I probably couldn't justify an iPad.
Now that I have one, it's handy to have a super mobile screen that streams all manner of video.

@Keen that's the main reason i want one, comics, reading in general
tried a kindle, hated it, fire is too small, id like the 9in screen

7:59 PM
9 inch screen + the high-res screen makes comics a joy to read on this thing.

Although my dislike of DRM still has me grumbling about Comixology's/Amazon's setups.

how so

For both, you cannot download and backup the comic files.
On the PC, you can view Comixology's comics in a browser-based Flash applet. On the iPad, you can only manage the comics on your device from within their app.
You can't download the actual files for each comic, you can't back them up. You can't therefore break their DRM should they go out of business.
Ditto for Amazon's comics, but you can't even read those on a PC.

Q: What career was Troy planning on?

KeenOne of the arcs in the TV show Community is what career Troy Barnes is going to pick. In season 1, one of the community college's plumbers tries to encourage Troy to become a plumber. Later the Air Conditioning School tries to get Troy to join them. Troy has actively avoided choosing either, b...

I've been marathoning Community lately, time for me to ask some questions.
