Since I just read the history, I know how the story ends. But this is the first time I've seen the movie in its entirety. William Macy plays a great character. All the performances are pretty impressive.
OOH! I restarted Netflix, DVD only (no streaming for obvious reasons).
The first five seasons of Game of Thrones are on the way, two disks at a time.
@FaheemMitha I have never read or seen that one. I should. I'd probably really like it.
@ElendilTheTall The other day, at of all places - the infusion pharmacy, a big pickup was taking up three parking spaces including one of the two handicapped places (he did not have handicapped tags). That small penis sign would have been awesome.
Actually, I think the commentary in the movie for that particular race might be the actual commentary. And the race before that, they showed the actual footage on a TV.
I'm going to age myself terribly, but I remember (probably first grade) writing in class that my dream was to become a stewardess, and my husband could be the pilot!
(complete with exclamation point)
Speaking of Catch me if you Can, he actually did pass the bar exam.
And on that note I really am going now, at least for a couple of hours. If the timing is right, I'd like to bend your ear for a while about computer stuff when I get up. That time of day others here may have answers too. Anyway, goodnight for a while (I really mean it this time, I'm getting goofy) CYA Sweetie
So, a new spam nuisance has appeared here. Phone calls which plays music at you. Probably they would get around to something else, but I hang up after the first few seconds. And trying to call back says the number does not exist. Anyone else seeing this?
I read an article saying people in the UK are getting calls from India along those lines. I think that's called spam outsourcing.
the banks mis-sold Payment Protection Insurance to thousands of people who applied for loans in the last decade or so. Then they were told to pay it back. So lots of middlemen sprang up to handle the claims
@ElendilTheTall Well, at least you're talking to a human being, rather than a machine. So you get to yell at them if you feel like it. There's nothing more frustrating than being woken up in the middle of the night by a spam recording.
@Jay I'm watching Andrew Zimmern (the bizarre food guy). He's in Beijing having an imperial banquet with four English students. Fascinating. On a lazy Susan the size of a playground merry-go-round, they have about 20 dishes.
@ElendilTheTall Yep, I'm up and fully dressed even. With real pants! (I usually wear shorts or ratty sweats unless I have an appointment to meet someone, which I don't today)
LOL! Andrew is at the world's first (very fancy too, all private rooms) penis restaurant.
He's still in Beijing, every dish on the menu is cooked to order penis.
there is a very good Chinese restaurant in Des Moines that has lazy Susan tables maybe big enough for 10 (8 comfortably). This table could probably comfortably seat 20 Chinese (or 16 Americans).
He didn't say what this meal for 5 cost, but it had to have been big money. Very fancy, like the Beijing answer to The French Laundry.
I need to hook up with a rich man long enough to visit certain towns in Europe (Amsterdam comes to mind especially), and Asia to eat my way through Bangkok and Beijing. I'd like to revisit Seoul too.
Andrew Zimmern has me convinced that I won't try absolutely everything twice, but I come damn close.
Just about a year ago I was considering highlights like that, to "blend in grey". Not anymore. My grey is coming in silvery white. I like it just the way it is. I'm glad I haven't messed with the color. Oh yes, too much make-up. That might be something I would do on Halloween with fishnet stockings.
