I'm going to try a powdered goats milk iced coffee. This could be really disastrous, but I really need some coffee. It's 1 AM now, I've had some sleep, I have phone calls I need to make starting at 6 AM.

Not as bad as it sounds actually. This time yesterday I had no food in my kitchen but some rice and canned beans (and various condiments and such). When I came home from the turkey giveaway, I came across groceries that somebody moving out left in the lobby (people moving in and out do that here, there's always stuff in the lobby for people to rummage, this time apparently they emptied out their freezer). I scored a few items including a frozen Cornish hen. I love Cornish hen!

so while I was cleaning blood out of my carpet I was also cooking dinner in an episode of Chopped manner. It was both fun and successful. :)

And iced coffee with powdered goat's milk is not as foul as it sounds.

I uninstalled everything Bluetooth on my computer. Then I plugged in the dongle and I'm getting a 'driver not installed correctly' error message.

I have two identical headsets. That confuses the hell out of everything because apparently they don't have a separate identity. They both have the same name and I can't find any way to name one or the other something different. Okay fine, so I'll mark one of the headsets with tape and that will be the computer headset, the other will be for the phone.

when you say you 'uninstalled everything bluetooth' what do you mean exactly?

Everything went south when I installed the video card, but I also upgraded to Windows 10 and then reverted to 7 right at that time.

I think it was with the video card that it stopped working, but I can't swear to it.

and then after installing the card it wasn't working. That's not to say that installing the card caused the problem, but the timing makes it seem that way.

That's where it stands now. Before uninstalling the driver (just now) I would get to the point of pairing the headset and the screen with the connect button would only flash and then disappear. I could never hit the connect button.

Well shit. I've got $80 wrapped up in these damn headsets and I can't get either one of them to work. Windows says the driver for the dongle is up to date, no problems detected. The dongle flashes and it makes the connection sound, but it won't pair with either headset. Dragon is not very accurate with my other mic. I am so damn frustrated. I've wasted a shitload of time on this.

And now I've got to dictate something that needs to be done in an hour and forty minutes, and I don't have good tools for the task. I'd better go and get 'er done. Shit.

So the next logical steps are A) try a new dongle in your computer B) try the same dongle in another computer and see what happens. Dongles should be pretty cheap, $10 or so? @ElendilTheTall I'm getting the headsets to connect to the phone correctly, at least not the second headset. I realized that the first headset was going to the phone when I tried to pair to the computer and I heard through the headset "your call cannot be connected". I tried earlier to pair the second headset to the phone and couldn't get it to work. What's weird is that the first headset had been working just fine (with the computer) prior to installing the video card.

@Arrowfar Well, Jay is going to be a call in guest so I suppose you can be too.

(that is I have not been successful using the first headset with the phone, although the "your call cannot be connected" line suggests that it would probably work)

@ElendilTheTall I have one more thing to try right now, but I am not overly optimistic. No, my friend in the building does not have a computer except for a small tablet.

the naan was awesome. freshly made in a basket at your table that they refreshed every so often

lightly drizzled with garlicy butter

and it was reasonably priced. only 10.99/person

the decor was very nice.

although i was a bit apprehensive because the outside of the restaurant looked very tacky

but the inside was on-point

the goat curry was delicious. But i think they should have a warning about the goat meat having bones still in

its hard to tell since its covered in curry

and i think i ate a full plate of just paneer
