11:00 PM
I need my hairs cut tomorrow

@Wesley no idea. I got a neck shave, if that's what you mean

It's October, right?

@RyJones You looked a little tight on the sides:

@Wesley I don't know how you exported Arizona's weather to northern california, but i would like to return this shipment ASAP

@freiheit You're in Phoenix, right?
@freiheit Makes a man out of you.

11:09 PM
@Wesley On my ride home, I am going to sweat so much!

@freiheit Make sure to give you lady a big bear hug as soon as you walk in.

@Wesley What lady doesn't appreciate dripping with somebody else's sweat?

@Wesley ah yeah, it was a #2 or #3

@Wesley Actually, she's working (outside) for an event and will be there until after I get home...

@freiheit Bad ladies. That's who.

11:12 PM
@RyJones I'm thinking of getting an EV.
A leaf or more likely a volt or fusion plug in

@Jacob ah. We have 4 hours of free Tesla charging at my building.

@Jacob Those aren't bicycles!

@RyJones I can't afford a tesla
@freiheit I have a bike

@Jacob 1 bike?

@Wesley I want a backup solution recommendation

11:13 PM
@freiheit I do need a road bike however

> [Rule #12](http://www.velominati.com/the-rules/#12) // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
While the minimum number of bikes one should own is three, the correct number is n+1, where n is the number of bikes currently owned. This equation may also be re-written as s-1, where s is the number of bikes owned that would result in separation from your partner.

@freiheit I think I have enough bikes... No room to store them

@Jacob Talk to @ewwhite about rotatable vertical bicycle storage options.

@freiheit What do I mount it in my apartment?

@Jacob You can hang bicycles from the walls like artwork!

11:17 PM
no, I can't either

@Jacob ceiling hooks

@freiheit concrete ceiling

@Jacob impact drill!
But, seriously, the wall option is better...

@freiheit seriously, I don't need another bike
well
I need one more
but I don't like riding in the rain

11:20 PM
41 secs ago, by Jacob
but I don't like riding in the rain
I live in Seattle....

@Jacob Right. Right now you need one more. n=1, and you should have n+1 bikes. So one more. Until you get that one.
@Jacob It's fun and challenging and miserable and cold and exciting!

@freiheit N+1 is a race condition

@Jacob while (1) { n ++; }

@ewwhite Need to know OS and applications at the least. RTO/RPO would be helpful too, but I can tell someone to buy and implement something without that.
@freiheit can too: woodstick.co.uk
dickwad

@Wesley I've seen variations of that kind of bike hanging system that are more shelf-based or that actually include a usable shelf...

11:30 PM
@Wesley I want an appliance I can just dump at customer sites.
be general backup target

@ewwhite Unitrends. Done.
You're welcome.
Also, you can be a reseller and mark that shit up.

maybe I'll just build some appliances

Or make a managed service out of it.

the cost is stupid
and the GUI no good

Naw, unitrends and be done with it.
You can make a better UI, eh?
:P
Fine, Quorum backup appliance.
Freakin' Barracuda backup appliance, since you're already in with them.

11:32 PM
I like Veeam

@ewwhite Then do veeam. Does it do all the apps and stuff that you deal with?
Does it do Exchange and whichever databases you use?

but I need somewhere for Veeam to dump the data

@ewwhite Thumper.
Just build a back blaze box. :P
Get a local appliance / server you drop off that collects it, and then siphons it, compressed and rate limited or whatever, off to you DC in a manner that you can sustain.
You're great at pricing packages out and getting paid, so you can make money off that.

I just need something I can drop at a client site.
maybe like an HP microserver
but better.

Unitrends
It's done for you, has agents and compatibility with a lot of apps. You can get local appliances to drop off, and a big head end unit to sell space on if you want.

11:45 PM
@Wesley I don't like the GUI
or cost

Local stuff backs up to local appliance, local appliance can send up to mothership. Sell a local appliance for a profit, sell the mothership for a recurring fee.
Price it out. People will buy it.
GUI sucks. Fine. Everything sucks.
@ewwhite I looked into being a unitrends reseller / partner a few years ago. The price gets way better relatively fast if I remember. If you can sell ten in a year you'll be getting way better margins.

Yeah, they're ridiculous.
What about Barracuda?

Barracuda's hardware is the pits
Barracuda 390 Backup appliance.
