A good working knowledge of:
o The computing platforms and environments used for PTC (at this time: Red Hat Linux, QNX, Windows). The candidate will be working directly in this computing environment and will be expected to develop processes, scripts, configurations and tools;

A basic understanding of the mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical and electronic systems on a diesel electric locomotive. The candidate should have a sufficient scientific and engineering background to synthesize a good understanding of locomotive control mechanisms from first principles.

Working Conditions:
Primarily in indoor, office environment, with significant amount of time working on computers.
· Work environments will be a mixture of offices, laboratory workbench, locomotive shop, outdoors and hotels when travelling.
· Fluid day to day priorities with changing project schedules and deadlines.
· Travel includes outdoor field sites; which will be in varying types of weather conditions.
· Periods of extended hours required at times to respond to urgent situations and project needs.
