11:00 PM
I think that even though I figured out how to solve my problem, I'm going to string this Tier 1 guy along for being a douche

well if they deserve it
some cock managed to knock the wing mirror off my car overnight. I'd cheerfully string them up right now. £250 right now is not good

@RobMoir 0_o How'd they do that?

I hope the next 10 generations of their family suffer some kind of awful disease right now.

@RobMoir what car ?

I guess they knocked it driving past, must have been going quite a speed too. tossers

11:05 PM
Driver from the passenger seat with the use of clever pulleys, then pretend you're in an old French car

my focus
just someone too far over knocked it where it was parked up I guess

@RobMoir have you tried a local scrap dealer ?
I had to replace one on an astra last year and it was only £30 from a scrappy

I got a nasty stone chip in my windscreen yesterday :(

never thought of that. Got the part bought now :-(

@Iain Yeah, try the junk yard first

11:06 PM
its one of those fancy electric and heated mirrors so its not frigging cheap
what happened chopper?

Don't discount the pulley idea
Bit stone got kicked up on m27
Big <> bit

@RobMoir ah - mine wasn't that sophisticated - don't the fancy ones fold in when the car is locked - they do on the fiesta we have

bloody hell that musta been fun
@iain my one is fancy enough to cost a frigging fortune to fix, not fancy enough to protect itself

Bloke coming to fix on Friday when I'm back home

not too bad in the meantime I hope

11:09 PM
Nah, second one like it since I got it though
Stone magnet

unlucky... yeah or magnet

Some years ago we were on Mull for a holiday. Driving along and a chunk of the island leapt off the mountainside onto the car, smashed the window and rolled down the bonnet of the car - that was scary

I bet

I've never payed much attention to US thanksgiving - but is it not all about eating until you get sick and boozing to feel better? How would you drive a car in this condition?

That's my understanding too, I guess they don't drive

11:12 PM
It's usually family time. People drink to tolerate it.

Been there for two, once I was stuck in a hotel on my own, the other was with the family in MV and got totally adopted by some neighbours who filled to bursting and were lovely

@RobMoir looking at them most don't walk either ;)

It looks like a fun time @chopper3. I'm pretty out of shape myself so not gonna criticise ;-)

s/chopper3/iain/ ?

@Iain Puh-leeze. You have you're own not too good looking people over the pond. It's not isolated to just the states

11:14 PM
nope, just missed an @iain outta there. First part was to chooper, second to you

@Holocryptic I guess so but there are fewer of us

I believe walking is considered dangerous - I've been to Seattle once, hardly anyone used the pavements

that's a shame, can't beat a good hike

@Iain So proportionally you'd probably be the same, you think?

I have no idea

11:16 PM
No holo, we have our share, me included but nothing like the US

@Chopper3 I don't know... The US is a large area. I'd want to see data comparisons first. I'm not saying the US is the healthiest, but I'm not saying that anyone else is better either

Wikipedia claims 64% of the population to be overweight.
US population that is. And OECD numbers are at 50% apparently. So there is a difference but it should be hardly perceptable.

Goddammit, I hate when people don't provide links to their sources
Not you, I'm digging deeper into the wikipedia thing

everything on there is made up

11:25 PM
When bored I've been known to add some tiny extraneous detail to a wikipedia page or two

WHO numbers for males 15+ apps.who.int/infobase/…
US is apparently 80%, UK is 64%
Fuck I need to start working out

Me too

me three

part of my problem is my back hurting so much. I have to wonder though, if I strengthen my core, if that problem would go away

yeah
can you walk with your back problem? I mean go for good long walks? I find that helps me when my back is acting up
and its still exercise in its own right

11:36 PM
@Holocryptic this would heavily depend on the root cause. If it is a herniated vertebral disk, it won't

I was in a car accident 6-8 years ago, and fucked my back up
I can walk for a while. It hurts less than running

:-(

It's really been hurting the last week too

damn... I think bad backs do act up worse from time to time, mine's been much more sore than normal lately

Sounds like a slipped disk. Did you have any surgeries after the accident?

11:43 PM
@syneticondj No, but I've been to the chiropractor. Xrays all look normal according to the docs (and I went to a spine specialist, and he said I was fine; Fuck him I'm in pain)
the chiropractor usually helps after a while, but I havent' been in a good while

I got some disk degeneration and instability around the sacroiliac joins myself. What fun!

I used the heating pad last night, and it helped unbind some of the muscles

if it helps its all good

I think I may need to get a harder bed too

yeah i found that helped

11:55 PM
I kinda want to get a sleepnumber, but you know. Money.
SleepNumber, not Tempurpedic

I've got a tempurpedic
it's great
but it was insanely expensive

yeah, I'm finding that money is a problem for big ticket things for me
I can do lots of little things, but big things not so much
