@Shads0 I was OK with the remakes of all of the Final Fantasy games where they added more spaces for spell/item names and Meteo because Meteor. I'm not opposed to change.
@ChrisS I was on the verge of giving myself up here at work. The awesome thing was that he tried it and then dropped her back down the mountain and had to do it again.
So there's precisely one hot girl in our office, and she just called with a question. I went to pick up the phone and it slipped, I did the banana trick where you grab at it 4 times before finally getting a hold of the phone. If this strikes you as at all funny, you're not alone. I spent the next 3 second trying not to laugh as I gave my standard "Good afternoon, this is Chris" spiel.

Due to lack of resources and knowledge internally, all we've done so far is to find ways of keeping LDAP running without really investigating any of these issues (use monit to restart it when it crashes, db_recover to recover the db if needed, and slapcat to recreate the db from scratch when db_recover fails).
I'm a big fan of FTP. I use FTP to transfer media from my main computer to my server. I get good speeds, over LAN.
FTP is reliable, I'd give that a shot, as it's easy to set up, and it could be faster in some cases.
He recommends FTP and when I tell him FTP sucks he asks if I've ever heard of SFTP, like it's the same as FTP.
My currrent ESXi 4.0.0 system runs from an SD card and has some VMs set up on two 1 TB drives running in a Raid level 1 configuration on a Dell PowerEdge R710. I've been asked to make the system use a hard disk in place of the SD card.
I've tried to copy the entire SD card to a third hard drive...
@ewwhite - as I said in my comments on that question, this is why we don't let senior managers in the server rooms. Most of ours wouldn't know what a SD card was, and wouldn't care either as long as one never caused an outage serious enough to register on their radar

meh, i've been happy with cisco my whole career, like anything core to your infrastructure you need to read the release notes and be really really sure of what you are doing before upgrading something that is currently working
fair enough. The best thing about them is that they're honest about being assholes at least. Kinda like Microsoft and Apple, you're in no doubt that they're there to make as much money as possible off you, at least they're honest about it
