Q: How do I recolor part of this shape in illustrator to create a 2-color svg?

But then he elaborated that he does not know how to select individual shapes. All he wanted to do is select bottommost shape and color the thing.

But yes background same thing

Its one thing to be new but to not have any idea is a bit harder to overcome.

well sure.. went from an aethos quad and wanting to expand so Im looking at getting the Blade 300 and DX9 but my kid is still a little young with the aethos quad so Im looking for a milder version. we saw taranas quad but the reviews say the motors go out but that was two years ago

Also you should use the most semantically appropriate element available. For example, Phone and Fax should be <input type="tel">

A: Best practice for form layouts?

Single column layout you have is definitely better, but there are several other options. I'm not going to say my approach is the best. Just try to apply it to your problem and see the result. Basically, there are several ideas: enhance readability try not to mix field names and entered values...

Ryan may I suggest you to use Bootstrap or Foundation?

Bootstrap is like using a sledge hammer for a nail a lot of the time

it's just so massive comparatively to other frameworks

Most of the time if I try to use it I end up overriding half of what it does anyway

I much prefer minimal frameworks

ya know... I'll never understand why some clients make you jump through hoops to get paid. I mean they pay.. but they want very special considerations when you invoice. Isn't it THEIR problem to input data in a manner they need? I provide the basics --- address, invoice #, date, itemized list of projects with job #s, fees, taxID. Why do they need anything more? I guess they hope it's so troublesome you WON't invoice.

oh, sorry, getting the hang of the chat windows. just wanted to say thanks for the compliment on the indesign bit a few minutes ago.

No problem. Lots of effort when into that :) I started on that same thought pattern.. then gave up when I realized I didn't have an hour or more to effectively describe it to someone :) Nice job!

And there's no real "chat etiquette" here.... things weave in and out of conversations :) I was just venting :)

.. and yes there are cat gifs occasionally... but it's been a while :) Our main purveyor of cat gifs has kind of dropped off the past couple months.

i guess it's a good thing that i'm not here for just the cat gifs, then. sigh.

but, yeah, it took a lot more work to figure out than i was intending to put forward. but i'm a sucker for using styles in indesign. i get sucked in. i just had to figure it out.

so, do you have many clients who are picky about their invoices?

i only do a bit of freelance work, so my clients are limited, but they've only been picky about HOW they receive their invoices

A couple. I just find it surprising. They ask for a very specific set up for invoices.. who does that??? Of course, they also get charged slightly higher rates due to the extra effort it takes to actually get paid.

Most of my clients just accept and pay my invoices. But I've got one or two clients that way specific information on their invoices or they want things formatted in a specific manner. I find it kind of offputting that they want me to jump through hoops for them in order to get paid. -- Still I do it.
