man its a sign the US is messed up when you call about consolidating your student loans and they say they cant do anything because you are not behind.. wow.
Yeah.. THey started cracking down on loans in 2000 or there abouts. :) I went like 20 years without paying them.. then I got the call.. You pay or we take it.So I paid :)
I just dont get rewarding and only help people that have messed up. that just blows my mind.. oh sorry.. you are doing the right thing and we cant help you..
@Yisela yes... by "Dimensions" they want to use only the area covered by pixels on a layer not in the document. Basically they want to use the layer minus transparency to position things.
latest folly.... Design this for me.... Okay anything branding I should be aware of? Who's the audience?.... "Just do what you think is best"......initial draft sent for approval.. "This Looks Great!"... minor typographic changes (no comment on layout)..... 2 days later.... "Oh, here's our branding guidelines, but you don't have to follow them exactly. And the target audience is XXX.".... rework design.... sigh
Yeah I see it.. but it's going to take some planning on wording before I respond. I've been slacking on work a bit today and am trying to get caught up.
It's a print piece, there generally aren't any "spec" to flesh out. I ask for branding and target audience guideline along with any other "Concept" related information. If they don't share it, they don't share it.
I've got a grunge texture JPEG and a text layer on a black background. I want to use the image file to create a worn-out, distressed, grunge texture effect on the text.
How can I apply the texture layer to the text to give this worn / grunge look ?
The materials I'm using are:

And while I agree with what you're doing I just don't think that particular place is good for it, since if I'm reading a question and it has part of an answer in it, it throws me off a bit "like why is he asking if he knows"
Maybe you can lead your question with "Not only does this technique work for text but also for.. everything else" -- since your answer is at the top and accepted people would be almost just as likely to see it there as in the question
Because when you're reading the question, and the note says "The methods for achieving this.." well -- what methods? It's a question, it's asking for methods, not reviewing them.
That's all I'm saying.
besides that the question has a serious problem in itself that the files are hosted on dropbox and the poster could remove them at any future date and the question (and by extension your answer) become obsolete.
So if we're trying to future-proof the question we should approach it froma slightly different angle, in my opinion.
I think files should be secondary to the actual question/answer. An answer shouldn't need to rely on an external file to be right, nor should a question need to rely on an external file to be a good question.
