@Bob You might not see it in the gif; but you 1) can control the speed with your mouse / configure it, 2) it is dictionary based (also configurable) and 3) you actually use larger area than that, so much easier to pick the characters you want.

Not that I would prefer it over typing with a normal keyboard, but it can be useful for some people.
