EC2 c3.8xlarge instances have the equivalent of 2 x Xeon E5-2680v2 CPUs available to them, and cost 25 cents per hour as spot instances in Northern Virginia.. you could install rarcrack on eight of them or so and tell them all to do random passwords and it would find it for about $2.50

even with a 50% overcommit of RAM (with the remaining data paged out to disk), the black squares of paged-out textures get rendered no longer than 1/2 second after I maximize a window that's been inactive for some time.
