Any idea with Powershell that I can restore, unminimize, and maximize all windows with one command that I run through CMD? Similar to this command that minimizes them all.
BTW, I am this for a script kitte that thinks that Making 20+ buttons than duplicating than including the code is easier since he likes GUIs and well Functions are too hard and so are dropdown boxes
How is MacOS for developing? I haven't touch it yet even though I have been interested into computers since at least 10 years ago. My first Linux Distro that I install was Ubuntu 10.04 I believe.
my desktop is dg41cn,1gb ram,e2180,tried to raise ghz,the system restarted..then i went to see bios-there i changed the ram speed (actually underclocked in bios to lesser speed)-it was altered already the numbers 5334 something like tat,now the system without entering the bios -continuous restart...

The most demanding game I play on this machine, DOOM, needs about 5 GB as currently configured. (System requirements call for 8 GB minimum, 16 GB recommended.)
i got 32, but could survive easily on 16. Then i did the cache thing for the SSD which was interesting for saving writes, but uneventfull much beyond that.
I have RAPID Mode enabled. Doesn't really bring a big boost in most situations, but DOOM is so I/O-heavy (thanks in no small part to the game's huge textures) that RAPID Mode makes a significant difference in load times.
It does have the useful effect of coalescing multiple writes to the same dataset.
Did some experimentation with RAPID mode enabled on my laptop. On write-intensive workloads affecting the same data, RAPID mode can significantly reduce the amount of data written to the NAND, which means higher endurance.
A test using Anvil's Storage Utilities involving a total of 16 GB of writes to a 1 GB test file (QD8 128KB writes) led to only 2-3 GB of data actually getting written to the NAND.
Hmm. The recommended spec for DOOM is actually 8 GB of RAM.
Then again, it is very I/O-heavy. Load times are strongly impacted by the performance of your storage device. DOOM also streams textures from disk, so systems with less memory (whether system or graphics) may experience a drop in performance or visual quality (textures may visibly pop in).
The id Tech engine is really bad in this regard. They don't let the user set texture sizes; instead, they use "megatextures" and stream them from disk, using memory for caching as appropriate.
@Bob @Dog just spent $3 for a 1 hour "truly unlimited" data session from Verizon, called "PopData" (trying to download a game that's way too fucking big while keeping under 200 GB on my unlimited data plan)... it was just OK, not amazing... LOTS of de-prioritization or saturation or Steam sucking
then at the tail end I had consistent speeds in the 2.5 to 4.0 MiB/s range with occasional peaks to 5 MiB/s
I ended up downloading about 18 GiB in 1 hour
my peak speed according to Steam was 6.8 MiB/s
but I only touched 6 MiB/s for a few seconds total
probably spent around 15-20% of the time at >= 5 MiB/s; 40% of the time between 4.0 and 4.9 MiB/s; 25% between 2 and 3.9 MiB/s; and the rest below 2 MiB/s
@JourneymanGeek hmm, that pic reminds me that the NSA will be selling eventually all kinds of different spooked out vans , used for survelance. Turn it into an RV it will be pre-wired
I'd think the metered plan people get the highest priority for the data they pay for by the GiB; then unlimited data limited time users (PopData); then "true unlimited" lowest priority
in retrospect I should have probably chosen a more off-peak time to download than 9pm :P
@JourneymanGeek like I said, and as has been linked in here before, Verizon is starting to "crack down" on their grandfathered unlimited data plan users who use more than 200 GiB per month on average
@JourneymanGeek what I did is buy an hour of true unlimited data (doesn't count against any limits) for $3 on my iPhone., then downloaded the shit out of a game on Steam
I could have downloaded it for "free" on my unlimited data plan (the hotspot), but the increased usage would increase my chances of getting cut off in a future cull
it's kind of nice, in theory; it doesn't restrict it to the phone, you can tether and literally max out what the modem will give you... so it's worth it as long as you know you'll be downloading more than, say, 10 gigs, and have good signal
wouldn't advise throwing money away on it in a region that has poor reception, or on an old device without all the bands, or with only periodic usage
17 gigs for $3 is what I just got... considering that most Verizon plans sell metered data for between $3 and $10 (depending on the promotion you get) per GiB, that's a nice value
I could pay $6 and get 4 hours (my evening prime time) unlimited data.. $6 per day isn't horrible for 40 - 50 Mbit with very stable connection and works anywhere you go
actually, they should also offer unlimited data plans with a bandwidth cap for less money per hour for moderate use... and then we're back to Verizon offering true unlimited data again
I'd take a baseline 20 Mbit for a 12 hour session for like $6 - $8
you can tell their network can handle it if they're actively selling hour data sessions where people can gobble down 17 GiB of data in a 40 - 50 Mbit session
my other options are slower and far, far, far less reliable
as in, cellular is rock solid even during power outages, but ADSL/cable drop out when you cough, turn on a vacuum, walk down the stairs, or in light rain

I've dealt with issues configuring the Linux kernel while I was building a Gentoo installation. Where the heck do I enable memory ballooning under Hyper-V?
@Bob Yeah. Was trying to install Gentoo into a VM, wanted to enable the guest services in the kernel. The Hyper-V options were scattered across several different configuration sections.

it downloads these little ~50MB files and then "applies" (without downloading anything) a ~5 - 10 GiB (!) patch based on that tiny data, somehow, and has to transfer like 50 MiB/s on the disk subsystem as it does it

it did not test the gas cap ?? here in ca they test to see if the gas cap leaks vapors and has to be replaced. the guy also is supposed to look the car over for any modifications ,like ones used to trick the thing temporarily to pass.
