@CanadianLuke There, all evened out.

@MichaelFrank Appreciated :P I thought I wrote a decent question, just a little insulted at two separate people thinking I didn't do my research

When we installed Debian on the test server here, we chose to install the GUI as well. :P

I never had a use before for the GUI

11:24 PM
Have you guys tried the mnemonics in Ribbon UI of File Explorer on Windows 8?

@JourneymanGeek You are a mean, mean dog.

File Explorer now uses ALT, H, S, I to inverse a selection.

@JourneymanGeek Oh, you are booing at @CanadianLuke, not encouraging him into doing it. Ooops.

Anyone using selection inverse command? In file managers in general?
It's ridiculous how Micro failed to bind the inverse command to Ctrl+I. Since they pretty much revamped the UI, that would seem logical to me at least. It's not a reserved shortcut. Not that I know of.

11:28 PM
@ThatBrazilianGuy Correct. I was a bad boy long ago with that chmod

Oh and hi @CanadianLuke! Still using WP?
Did I mention for the umpteenth time in the last few hours that I gave a talk on last Saturday's WordCamp :D

(My 1st talk ever on a conference, by the way)

@ThatBrazilianGuy: WP is the worst blog software. Other than all the other options ;p

Sorry for my bad English, are you saying it is terrible but the alternatives are even worse? Or are you saying it is even worse that any other alternative?

11:36 PM
@ThatBrazilianGuy Don't apologize. You're English is fine. @JourneymanGeek just made a semantic error.

@sammyg English? Me? Bollocks!
Besides, @JourneymanGeek's English is better than mine, and I suspect he made a play with words (that just passed over my head)

@ThatBrazilianGuy See! "Bollocks!" That's British English for testicles! The very first word everyone should learn when starting to learn English as a second language in order to be understood in the UK.

Jolly good, my fellow.

Haha! LOL!

erm, bollocks dosen't mean testicles.
I was under the impression it meant arse.

11:51 PM
I always thought the opposite...
When in doubt!
!!!!!!!!!!wiki bollocks

ahh, apparently it does mean testicles.

@MichaelFrank That didn't make much sense. Use the !!/help command to learn more.
"Bollocks" /ˈbɒləks/ is a word of Anglo-Saxon origin, meaning "testicles". The word is often used figuratively in British English and Hiberno-English as a noun to mean "nonsense", an expletive following a minor accident or misfortune, or an adjective to mean "poor quality" or "useless". Similarly, the common phrases "Bollocks to this!" or "That's a load of old bollocks" generally indicate contempt for a certain task, subject or opinion. Conversely, the word also figures in idiomatic phrases such as "the dog's bollocks", "top bollock(s)", or more simply "the bollocks" (as opposed to just "bollocks...

@ThatBrazilianGuy: google.com.sg/…

@JourneymanGeek Hmm. Who moderates the moderators?

@ThatBrazilianGuy: In theory? You'd report us to SE ;p

11:54 PM
So ultimately we have to put our trust in a superior power, it seems.

Yup
In practice, though, you can always yell at us politely let us know directly

2nd round of presidential elections are next Sunday. The campaings are on fire with of all the sorts of finger pointing from each candidate.

Planet Bollocks! Have a laugh!

And in fact I've been thinking from a while back
Would SE be approppriate for a political system?

11:57 PM
hmm
Kinda sorta

Because one of the wrongs with politics is people vote on politicians, not on politics
It's just a marketing campaing "I am great vote on me"
If people could upvote projects and proposals
It'd be perfect (in theory) everything's perfect in theory
It would not matter who was elected, they'd have to follow what was chosen anyway
It would be the ultimate form of decmocracy
