Q: How did the South USA become more overtly Christian than the North?

Venture2099What historical factors led to a more overt and rooted Christian culture in the southern USA compared to the northern states? The Bible Belt is an informal region in the southeastern and south-central United States in which socially conservative evangelical Protestantism plays a strong role ...

Q: Can one go back in time to complete a minyan?

Yehuda ShapiraCan one go back in time in order to complete a minyan, when his past self is already one of the minyan men? On one hand, the requirement for ten men is met. On the other, two of these men are actually the same man (albeit from different times). This question is Purim Torah and is not intended...

My reaction when I saw the title and site icon: "Wait what? Oh! Purim Torah! Yay!" :P

@AskElisha That's a pretty stupid question. What happened is that "the North" became "less Christian," specifically New England and the mid atlantic states. The Bible Belt is actually associated with the Mid West as much as it is with the south.

@curious I think this question about art is not off topic.

9:51 PM
@PeterTurner Do you have a justification?

10:21 PM
@El'endiaStarman It's about Christian art. Do we have a rule against asking questions about Christian art?

10:33 PM
@PeterTurner I voted to leave the question open. I'm not aware of any rule against asking questions about Christian art. And absent any rule about that, I don't see why we should close the question. Nor do I see any need for a rule against questions about Christian art.

@LeeWoofenden if it has some connection to Christian doctrine or practice then it's okay. If it's used devotionally or whatever then it's fine. But if it's just about Christian things or by a Christian artist then we need a stronger basis.

As another example, my question about a Christian band was met with mixed reception.

@curiousdannii I don't think we need to be that strict. Christian art can be seen as a "Christian practice." And it certainly has a major role in historical and present-day Christianity.
