Looks like the website is about as well made as anything Ubisoft has put out

Hmmm, I see a RX 6700 XT for $450 which is just below its MSRP I think. I wonder if I should buy or wait for more discounts
Jun 25, 2022 23:04
SGDQ is starting in less than 24h!
Jun 19, 2022 02:27
Oh hey Omori is on Game Pass
Mar 19, 2022 23:37
And then you get murderized by massive bosses because you failed your dodge roll 0.2 seconds too late
Mar 19, 2022 23:37
It is so adorable
Mar 19, 2022 21:35
I was right
Mar 19, 2022 20:27
I'm going to die so horribly

Ah yes, my favourite FPS is Slime Rancher

Heck it was funny from the start - the fastest normal moving technique involves what looks like the main character just flinging themselves forward in a ridiculous half jump
Jan 15, 2022 22:39
I caught the Uncharted 2 run live and it was amazing. This is a speedrun where there's a technique called "normal air walk" (implying there are, uh, even less normal air walking)
Jan 10, 2022 02:31
Also because of the way the game is structured there is basically one standard "build" unlike say Stellaris where there are enough choices to play in several different ways
Jan 10, 2022 02:28
The game is quite buggy though. You get weird things like that and very occasionally it softlocks. The AI is also quite bad, so the higher difficulty mostly just gives them ridiculous buffs instead of playing smarter. The cultures are not balanced - some of them are very good and others are so bad you'll almost never choose them
Jan 10, 2022 02:27
The neolithic era and the system of switching culture every era is pretty fun
Jan 10, 2022 02:27
The graphics and sound is good. I think the simplification they made to systems are okay - it's more streamlined than Civ which does mean it lose some depth but the game is also easier to pick up
Jan 10, 2022 02:26
@Wipqozn I'm playing it on Game Pass, so I think it's reasonable, but I would be pissed if I got this for full price
Jan 10, 2022 00:18
@murgatroid99 There is a certain irony in complaining about not being paid, then making yourself (even more) unhireable by pulling a stunt like this
Jan 10, 2022 00:13
Jan 10, 2022 00:12
Humankind has some lovely bugs
Jan 1, 2022 23:47
@Unionhawk I bet it's a screensaver. I remember collecting those when I was young because they were so cool
Dec 17, 2021 19:15
@badp AoC doesn't have partial credit / small data sets though
Dec 16, 2021 01:22
Dijkstra's is O(E+VlogV) which is not that much worse than A* in the worst yeah
Dec 16, 2021 01:00
I was wondering if A* has some weird pathological edge case but it looks like worst case complexity is just O(|E|) which is not terrible
Dec 16, 2021 00:29
@Wipqozn Mod abuse!
Dec 16, 2021 00:28
@Wipqozn The "a" between "fucking" and "turtle" is making me raise my eyebrows
Dec 12, 2021 04:45
Ah yes Microsoft, thanks for letting me play the hottest new game of this season - Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator
Dec 12, 2021 04:44
Dec 10, 2021 22:57
Ah the log4j bug
Dec 7, 2021 21:28
I don't think so, but there are definitely libraries for it
Dec 7, 2021 21:23
@MattE.Эллен There's also Rational if you need to represent fractions
Dec 2, 2021 04:43
Unfortunately it seems my 5G reception has waned and I need a booster
Dec 2, 2021 04:35

Dec 2, 2021 00:33
@Lazers2.0 Obviously the Xbox 360 has 360 bits. The Xbox One though was a failure because it only had one
Dec 1, 2021 18:37
For a dev machine it's probably acceptable unless you want to run heavy machine learning workloads
Dec 1, 2021 18:37
@Nzall No discrete it looks like
Dec 1, 2021 18:33
@Wipqozn Whatever my company gives me. Right now it's the 16 inch 2019 MBP
Dec 1, 2021 18:02
@Unionhawk If you have a choice of laptops that would be the one I get
Dec 1, 2021 17:21
The current one is not bad, but the thermals is awful. I literally put ice packs under mine to stop it from throttling
Dec 1, 2021 17:20
Waiting for my company to upgrade to it. It'll happen... sometime next year I think

I mean at that point why not just make them bunk beds? Anyway I think that design won't fly (pun intended) because it makes evacuation too hard
Feb 18, 2022 05:28
Heh, in local news San Francisco just voted to recall three members of its school board for gross incompetency
