@Stormblessed Often this is the result of a formatting change that doesn't change the text; I think I've seen it with markdown changes, but it might show up even with double-quoting the text. Switching between rendered view and markdown view can help spot the reason, sometimes.

@Jenayah Merci
Feb 7, 2019 22:45
@Jenayah Both fixed, I think.
Feb 5, 2019 13:41
@Babelfish obviously Thor has JKR maths skills :-)

I'm reminded of my personal physician's office from 20 yearas ago. They were initially named Polaris Internal Medicine & Pediatrics (not the best initials). They moved to a different office on the same road, as a more independent organization. Sadly, their new name was Polaris Parkway Internal Medicine & Pediatrics - which doesn't really deal with the issue much.

@Marvin Is the TLA for Star Trek: Discovery really going to be STD?

Although, in this case, my youth is probably the only thing that makes the comic good, or memorable. It falls under the statement, "The golden age of comics is eleven."
Feb 3, 2019 02:58
@Marvin First answer I've gotten to post in a while. Nothing like un excuse to revisit the comics of my youth....
Jan 31, 2019 19:35
@Jenayah Yes, that would be the one.
Jan 31, 2019 19:34
@Jenayah It's a cross between the American middle finger and the British two-finger salute.
Jan 29, 2019 20:09
@Mithrandir True - though, to a voracious reader, it might come close enough.
Jan 29, 2019 20:06
Hence, why the idea of being locked in a library overnight could have its appeal. Note: the idea. The reality probably wouldn't be quite so swell, as you note :-)
Jan 29, 2019 20:05
@Mithrandir I don't suppose you've ever read a (regular fiction) book entitled From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, by E.L. Konigsburg? Two kids live at a Museum for a while, secretly.
Jan 29, 2019 16:13
And, if you couldn't get the lights back on....
Jan 29, 2019 16:13
@Mithrandir Locked in a library all night. Oh, my. What a horrific fate. :-) (Okay, you might get hungry, that would be annoying at least)
Jan 29, 2019 16:03
@Donald.McLean I've read all the Baum ones. It's why I always get irritated when they refer to the "Tin Man", as not only was Nick Chopper the Tin Woodsman, but there was also the Tin Soldier, with the same basic story as to how he became Tin.
Jan 28, 2019 19:13
I don't think that crossed any lines; however, it was unclear.
Jan 28, 2019 19:01
@NeoDarwin Or, if it was your answer, you can re-edit to clarify your intent.
Jan 28, 2019 19:00
(Dexter, the vigilante serial killer, not Dexter of "Dexter's Laboratory")
Jan 28, 2019 18:57
Like, a Dexter/Jack the Ripper crossover.
Jan 28, 2019 18:56
@Jenayah Different meaning of "period", of course....
Jan 28, 2019 18:55
@Jenayah "Period blood studies" =? Victorian-era blood spatter analysis
Jan 28, 2019 06:56
I mean, with the using unicorn blood to keep him alive, and Death-Eaters hijacking the Howarth Express....
Jan 28, 2019 06:54
It seems like it was closed because it implicitly called for speculation

Q: Would it have been possible to trap Lord Voldemort in Professor Quirrell's body?

GuruGulabKhatriHad Harry had not interfered with Professor Quirrell/Lord Voldemort when they go into the final room with the Mirror of Erised, Dumbledore and Snape could have easily cornered and trapped them during their exit, or maybe in the room itself. In this case, maybe Quirrell and Voldemort would not hav...

Jan 28, 2019 06:53
@Alex - do you have an answer in mind for this question?
Jan 28, 2019 00:30
(Depending on the answer)
Jan 28, 2019 00:29
@Marvin Oh, no - this is leading to some HP fanfic where hetero couples polyjuice into each other to have unprotected sex without consequences, isn't it?
Jan 27, 2019 19:10
@Mithrandir Noting the asker's avatar, there probably are a few deaths that the Doctor could use to make a Horcrux legitimately :-)
Jan 27, 2019 18:56
@Mithrandir Where's that radioactive database bite? I obviously need that improved indexing now.
Jan 27, 2019 18:25
Database-Man, Database-Man, does whatever a database can....
Jan 27, 2019 18:25
@Jenayah Hmmm, well, it should improve my memory dramatically. I've always said I don't have a bad memory, but I do have a lousy indexing scheme.
Jan 27, 2019 18:22
@Alex Ah, Thanks for the correction.
Jan 27, 2019 18:21
@Jenayah plus, of course can't ping MithRandir without also pinging Mithrandir24601, who I believe is an SFF moderator?

Maybe they just really liked your answer.
Jan 27, 2019 18:19
For me personally, it's just nice to know that reading Detective Comics for 43+ years has paid off
Jan 27, 2019 18:13
Agreed!
Jan 27, 2019 18:10
It looks like @Mithrandir and @Catija are on - myabe they can address whether this is an issue or not.
Jan 27, 2019 18:07
Yeah, look for a user with the same avatar, but with a goatee added!
Jan 27, 2019 18:06
Maybe they just really liked your answer.
Jan 27, 2019 18:05
Hmmm. @NeoDarwin, did someone accept an answer before all this upvoting happened?
Jan 27, 2019 18:04
Hmm. Do accepted answers count towards repcap?
Jan 27, 2019 18:02
@NeoDarwin Safe to assume you didn't get the full benefit, as you would've hit the repcap - right?
Jan 27, 2019 17:58
But could someone read the answers in time to decide they were good and worth an upvote (no offense intended here, @Neo)
Jan 27, 2019 17:57
Even if it was someone who was trying to earn their Vox Populi badge, why would they target one person?
Jan 27, 2019 17:56
Certainly something unusual is going on.
Jan 26, 2019 22:46
@Stormblessed By the way, "teeth ringed" should have been changed to "teeth-ringed", instead of "teeth and ringed". It means their mouths had a ring of teeth around them (presumably externally visible, instead of hidden inside).
Jan 26, 2019 00:04
Up and at'em, @Adamant!

@PaulWhite It didn't necessarily look like a dupe to me (noting I saw the edited version), as the user was having issues with multiple accounts. With the added info, I felt the same as @hot2use. And, if they say it's working now, I'm fine with either too localiser or deletion.
