I've been out of the loop for quite some time, but I've got some time to do MS dev over the next few weeks. If anyone has issues that they'd like to see worked on, feel free to ping me and I'll see what I can do.

Lambda is a safeguard around API tokens, yeah. I think at the time I wrote it the goal was to minimize the number of people who had access to tokens.

Also I recall setting up the lambda for autoflagging being a part of the migration out of AWS... or maybe it was so that fewer people had access to the tokens and it just happened to make the migration easier

If I'm remembering correctly it was on a t2.medium? And I think everything (DB, nginx, MS, redis) lived on the same box :)

I just noticed that this user was apparently appointed yesterday as a SO mod, without any questions or answers? Anyone know what's up with that?

Yeah, it's not impossible by any means, I just think it's a little more complex than any attackers targeting us would 1) figure out and 2) bother to execute. Either way, patched now!

DoS is definitely a concern, however it would take some dedication to find the vuln, figure out who has access, and use the csrf against one of the 3 (I think) people with that level of access, so it's a minor one. I don't believe we have any attackers that dedicated, at least so far :P

@metasmoke These changes (and potentially some upcoming changes as well) might break JS on prod. If they do and you notice it, please ping me so I can look into it.

@tripleee Based on what @Makyen wrote around here, I'm a little less sure of how good an idea it would be to add to MS. I can definitely still take a stab at it, but I wanted to make sure you saw that first and still think a post list on MS is a good idea.

That makes a lot of sense actually. I think that an MS implementation wouldn't be too bad to write (I think it would make sense implemented as its own feature separate from search), but now that you point it out, it sounds like this is a feature that would really want to live on chat/a userscript rather than on MS.

We removed all of the "moved to chat" comments, but I don't think we touched any of the other comments in those threads. If they disappeared or came back, that would be a bug.

I think this sort of thing would be good to raise on Meta Stack Exchange if you'd like to!

That is quite odd, I know I haven't been undeleting anyone else's comments (and I don't think @BenI. has been either) so I don't know why they'd go away and come back

They're not actually removing any comments as far as I know, they're just imitating the system message that gets sent when comments get moved to chat.

I'd say that it's probably off topic for us in its current form, but it probably could be edited to be more explicitly "What's a good next step for me, knowing x y and z concepts with end goals of learning a b and c?"
