@beeshyams Nice. I kind of forgot, but I think you also own a Pixel, right?

@beeshyams I'd love to learn this skill. :D
Sep 11, 2024 09:34
Thanks for the link though. :)
Sep 11, 2024 09:34
@beeshyams Ah, one more thing to annoy root users, as if turn off 'Developer options' was not annoying enough already.
Sep 11, 2024 08:41
Nope. Does not seem to translate keys to emoji on PC. Did you use an emoji icon from your Android?
Sep 11, 2024 08:40
Nope. :(
Sep 11, 2024 08:40
@beeshyams that is indeed surprising. Let me try it. :)

@beeshyams What happened?

@beeshyams it's cool. :)

@beeshyams I still use it for a gesture. :)

I have not been keeping track of what's going on in the poweruser community. I've always liked GravityBox (and I don't really like the way Google went ahead with notification drawer changes. Gravitybox proved helpful to some extent on Android 11). I guess I'd have to search and dig into XDA forums first before buying a new phone in order to gauge what I would be losing after upgrading to a newer Android . :-(

BTW, what opinions or hard drawbacks of iPhone led you to not switch to it?
Sep 1, 2024 14:01
@beeshyams I'm in the same boat. I'm due for an upgrade, and I'm yet to decide what value Android can bring to me without root.

Sorry beeshyams. I'm kind of occupied in some work. Just happend to see the notification and visited here. I'll take a look at your messages once I'm finished. That first screenshot does looks interesting though. I've starred it already.

@beeshyams hi beeshyams. Interestingly, I did not receive a message for your ping. I just happened to visit this room and saw your comment. Anyhow. I don't use Gpay for payments. Only Paytm. For now, PayTm and PayTM banking operations are working fine when Paytm is in the denylist of Magisk. Cannot say about momo app (never heard of it before :D). YASNAC shows BASIC INTEGRITY as passed but CTS profile as failed.

@beeshyams Yeah, I saw the update. I don't know if it is denylist of Magisk or USNF or both that is working but so far basic safety net test is being passed on Android 11 on my phone.
Jul 9, 2023 12:41
@beeshyams no problem. :)
Jun 12, 2023 09:48
@AndrewT. interesting development. I never saw these features. Only likes I could see.

Has the Island app from oasisfeng developer been compromised (as in, ownership changed to some shitty company)?

@44yu5h if OP attempts to root the device than more or less they would end up erasing the whole device (factory reset), in which case file recovery would become terribly hopeless.

If the app or the cloud UI has trash/recycle-bin feature than look for it. Otherwise, consider them gone.

Is there a software in Linux ecosystem which can list any deleted files, that is not limited to images or music files only?
May 6, 2023 13:55
This is bizarre.
May 6, 2023 13:55
Strangely, testdisk no longer offers an option to show deleted files (Undelete option) for ext4 partition.
May 6, 2023 13:55
I was trying a couple of things in Virtualbox where I needed to see if I could undelete a file.
May 6, 2023 13:55
I distinctly remember being able to recover deleted files from an ext4 partition using testdisk a couple many times. In fact I used it successfully in January month.
May 6, 2023 13:54
Has anyone used Testdisk recently on an ext4 partition?

And I appreciate your patience in resolving my confusion. :) Thank you.

Okay. This K_s key is more like a time based OTP. // I didn't consider that an attacker can extract K_k from the device. I considered in this whole discussion one strong assumption that TEE cannot be compromised or be taken advantage of by an attacker. If I do consider otherwise, than given your last comment it makes sense to have a third-party provide a time-based key. It just happened to be the case that Google is placing itself in the whole scenario as a trusted third party.
