@FrankHopkins I would add, as hinted above, that a handful of states also have laws that specifically invalidate such clauses if the right conditions are met (e.g., Kansas Statute 44-130). Given the description, this particular statute may not help, but other states' or countries' versions may have different restrictions, and we don't know where the OP is.

+1 for finding feasibility of fatal finger-fencing :)

@Childishforlife because most people will stick with an underpaid job (up to a point) to avoid the hassle of changing jobs, and it's in employers' best financial interests to take advantage of that.

Inevitably, such an investor would goad Santa into adding micro transactions to his toys so he can end up turning a hefty profit.

the text editor part, menu bar, and properties go dark, but the object explorer and results are still light

you can open C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\140\Tools\Binn\ManagementStudio\ssms.pkgundef in notepad and comment-out the lines under "Remove Dark Theme"
Aug 8, 2017 18:10
there's a hack to enable it, but it's incomplete
Aug 8, 2017 18:03
still no official support for a dark theme in SSMS 17.2 :(

‘programming’ is a delightful pastime in which you debug for hours only to discover the real problem is: you can’t read, and you can’t count

If this project kills me I would like the dev team to act as pallbearers at my funeral. That way, they can let me down one final time.

These AI stories remind me of the 'be careful what you wish for' trope. Kinda like the old programming joke: A programmer and their partner are getting up and organising breakfast, but they have no milk. So their partner asks "Can you go to the store and get a bottle of milk?". Just as he is about to step out the door, their partner calls out "Oh, and if they have eggs, get 6!". The programmer returns and places 6 bottles of milk on the kitchen counter. "Why did you get so much milk?!?" their partner asks, to which the programmer replies "Because they had eggs!"Robotnik Jan 15 '16 at 4:53
