It seems this issue has been fixed as a bug I subscribe to has a comment about the issue going away in 12.04 beta

can't see any open bugs related to linux @aking1012

@aking1012 it's a known issue with the mainline kernel. How do I check if it isn't open on Launchpad?

These regressions, I read, have been dealt with in the Linux kernel 3.3. I can only hope Canonical was able to back port the fix in the Ubuntu kernel for 12.04

I pray this problem does not reoccur in 12.04

I am stuck with Windows as 11.10 is literally TOO HOT TO HANDLE

Can anyone confirm if the overheating/power regressions bug affecting most Intel processors has been fixed in 12.04? cc @AmithKK

@jokerdino here is the command sudo ln -fs /usr/share/icons/Bold-Knob/cursor.theme /etc/alternatives/x-cursor-theme

the articles said something about some applications rejecting the new cursor theme if that command is not activated

@jokerdino ok but I read one has to run a command in the terminal to ensure that the change is embalmed with all the applications

on 11.10 how do I change the cursor themes to these new ones linux.softpedia.com/get/Desktop-Environment/Cursors
