Incidentally, OP's need might be met by a zener triggering a FET shunt, I'm thinking. Basically like the SCR crowbars, except the SCR does not un-trigger without current dropping below a hold current. It's just that I don't have the bandwidth to think about it right now.

@ThePhoton Wasn't so bad. We spent some time figuring out various microphone and video issues, then we had an uninvited guest, then said guest spoke for a while, and then he left, and then after a bit we left.

@CamilStaps To be pedantic, the R is already in series with zener. I am suggesting that R could be in series with zener but not in series with the output.

@angelatlarge No, because then there's going to be two issues: 1. Nothing to actually drop voltage from supply other than supply internal resistance and 2. If the resistor and zener are in series hanging off the supply rail, the voltage won't drop anyway, since the voltage above the zener value will simply dissipate across the resistor.

can anyone give me an algorithm to separate audio and video from a source file having both audio and video part. I want to implement it using DSP blocks. Also any kind of help on this topic is more than welcome.

@CamilStaps I agree. This is a question tailor-made for DSP. Not knowing anything about DSP (except a tiny bit about computer vision I've been able to learn today) I wouldn't know whether there is a standard answer or not, regardless of format. You know, like sorting?
