my wife saw a person running to catch a streetcar (Tram), who didn't notice another streetcar coming in the other direction, which passed right in front of him, and he ran right into the side of it.
@KitFox I just noticed this message in my inbox Kit. Storing page content in the DB is fine. It's what just about every major site does. Wordpress blog posts are stored in a database of some kind. So are SE posts. The downside is that updating that content will require a custom tool instead of just a text editor.
> the chair of [Toronto City] council’s parks and environment committee... has no problem with Toronto thinking about how to prepare for the potential consequences of global warming. He’s just doubtful that global warming is a thing.
there are various differences, but they tend to be implementation detials and syntax details, rather than conceptual. An abscrtact class is a husk you build a full class out of. an interface is a mask that an object can wear.
In Java, and also, I suspect, C#, an abstract class can have behaviour and variables, and a subclass can only extend one abstract class. An interface is like a special abstract class with only virtual methods, and you can subclass as many of these as you like.
Let's take this conversation:
Alice: What is a non sequitur?
Bob: A non sequitur is something said that, because of its apparent lack of meaning relative to what preceded it, seems absurd to the point of being humorous or confusing1. In Latin, it means "does not follow".
Alice: Oh, ...
I just don't want to have "friends" like that. A friend is someone who will help you move. A real friend is someone who will help you move a body. A Facebook friend is someone who will find out where you moved the body and report you.
