@ObsessiveSSOℲ i do that frequently, and i don't think it's poor form. i think it modularizes "parts" of the answer. how can i X? well, i answered step a here, step b there, and here's c. if i have 5 answers that use step a and step a changes, i only have to update it one place. also, not a fan of mso
@TobyLawrence - I don't know if it's your thing, but programmer that like electronics sounds like it might be a fit ... it's reasonably close to your area. All the guys I know that are interested don't live in the north-east: raytheon.com/media/challenge
I've made it my goal that by the end of the year: - I ship an android app. - I ship the 12.10 edition of the ubuntu book. - And then that I write a networking book/infosec book.
and the latter will get sold somewhere for a modest fee, and have the PDFs, EPUBs and MOBIs distributed to the torrent sites. :)
my goals are a bit longer term. i want to build/design/revert to a cheaper USRP that doesn't triple in price over a couple of years. build some cheap apps. and some other to remain undisclosed goals
i checked all the boxes i can until i have more earnings coming in. hopefully this new thing works out well

I have been using Ubuntu for past 1 year and I know how awesome it is and in what terms is it...
Lightdm is displayed properly but after entering a password and clicking login, I see the screen blink and lightdm window re-appears and asks to log in as if nothing happened.
