If it is, please use a format which starts with an optional 1 followed by possible separator text and has the main number in the format 972-950-9381 where - could be a single alpha character or any [\W_]*+. Alternately, you can add the comment (?#IS NorAm) to the end of the pattern to force also using the alternate normalized form, or (?#NO NorAm) if it's not a North American phone number and it's incorrectly recognized as one. Perhaps try !!/watch-number 972-950-9381. Append -force to the command word(s) if you really want to add the pattern you provided.

@tripleee The spam flags on the question have been marked helpful, so maybe the mod handling it felt it looks like spam, but doesn't realize why it's definitely spam. I've raised a custom flag explaining in detail why it's spam. If it doesn't get deleted then, I think the site meta would be the appropriate place to clarify the policy. I don't know if we should be red-flagging posts when a site mod clearly feels the question doesn't need to be deleted as spam.
I initially resisted, too; but then sites with very little traffic particularly need help when they get hit by spam, so now I take care to create accounts on all the sites as soon as spam is reported
up to you entirely, of course!
the Drupal site in particular was badly spam-infested when I first got started here and I really didn't want anyone to think I had anything with PHP to do ...
@SmokeDetector Custom flagged: This is the 4th posting of this question on various SE sites using at least a couple of different accounts and a few different usernames. In the last couple of weeks, we've seen some actual spam for the domain which is linked. This question might be an actual question from a very persistent person, but it's also likely, given the very recent actual spam for this domain, that this question and posting it on multiple sites is just another way to spam.
@tripleee At this point, I definitely agree. It's just not always all that easy to convince site moderators without them seeing the bigger picture across multiple sites.

@tripleee I've noticed several suggested edits for grammar fixes etc. across a couple different sites, such as on IPS, where I came across them in the queue, or Board Games, where I noticed voting on an old question of mine and it was bumped by you editing one of the answers
Damn, beat me to it. I kinda want to send an email to that scammer just to mess with him. I love those witch doctor scams. Do they add you to spam lists these days or are they just a single guy operating under a new email?

@forest It could be an individual running it, but my impression is that these types of scams are a fairly big business, so there's a bit of infrastructure behind many of them.
