@Ethan I requested this to be watched and the PR is still open. Now there is a merge conflict due to Ryan watching something else. How do we normally handle this?
@Ethan If this is what I think it is, the .gitattributes file has some hints for Git. Since the blacklist files are append-only, we can hint that to Git and merges go pretty easily

@tripleee That pattern looks like it's already caught by Potentially bad keyword in body and Potentially bad keyword in answer Append -force to the command word(s) if you really want to add the pattern you provided.

Is this merely a clumsy copy of an existing answer with very minor changes, or actually an attempt to promote your web site by embedding the URL in code? — tripleee24 secs ago

@tripleee Not really relevant to spam - but since I saw your discussion on MO in the comments to a spam posts, I'll just mention that the tag called (tag-removed) is used for various purposes on that site. I have tried to explain the usage briefly here: Burnination vs. merging into a specific tag. (And there are a few posts on MathOverflow Meta about this tag.)
In any case, I certainly agree that retagging a spam question (or spam seed) by this tag (or some other tag used "to mark spam posts") does not seem like an optimal thing to do.
In short - moderators on that site often user merging into [tag:tag-removed] for purposes which could be better served by burnination. (OTOH burnination requires SE staff, this can be done by mods.)
Personally I do not like this approach too much. But I understand that it made sense when MO was on SE 1.0 and outside SE network.
In any case, the post with that comment thread is gone. The comments are saved in the MO chatroom - in case somebody would like to continue this discussion.
