@juicifer I think this is F (loud, forte) and RIGHTFUL (just) = FRIGHTFUL (scary)

@oAlt yup!

1:06 AM
CCCC: Originally fake, askew, unnatural, [Loud, and just scary]... ultimately defective (6)

@oAlt FAULTY = defective; F(ake) A(skew) U(nnatural) L(oud) (and) (jus)T (scar)Y

@Alconja yup!

CCCC: Loud, unclad hearts in love (9)

1:27 AM
@Alconja CLAMOROUS (Loud) = CL (unclad hearts) AMOROUS (in love)

@oAlt That's it.

1:48 AM
CCCC: Loud, unclad hearts surrounding idiot? oAlt's getting tense: "Say what you're having trouble saying!" (3,4,2)

@oAlt (-l)Ou(-d) twit(h) it

Correct! (Am assuming that you know where the it comes from)

@oAlt sweats profusely

Oh no :P

I+t(ense)...?
I've not seen T=tense before

1:58 AM
@AncientSwordRage Yeah

wipes sweat off brow

MW and Collins both show that T can mean tense, with Collins specifically saying that it's used in the context of grammar
so don't worry I haven't seen it before either lol

CCCC: AncientSwordRage starts mumbling to himself, "This is my soothing voice" (4)

a PURR is a soothing voice and P is "quiet", but all i have for the rest is maybe AncientSwordRage goes "urr..." when he mumbles to himself :P

2 hours later…
9:05 AM
@Sphinx Not a big fan, because A, B, and C take no part in the puzzle.

also BX<>CY could be the other way around
fun fact: i thought the man pictured was cary grant, but still got the correct film from the get-go because i thought the lead actor in that is cary grant

1 hour later…
10:37 AM
@Jafe that's wrong but also it's a good lesson for me not to make C4s up on the spot late at night
@Alconja I shamefully corrected the clue (making it slightly more equitable)
@oAlt indeed

12:12 PM
@AncientSwordRage I feel like this is ASMR ("This is my soothing voice"), with ASR, which somehow includes M (mumbling) incorporated into it ("to himself") somehow; the wordplay is a bit unclear to me
On that note, prove it and show us how good you are at ASMR. :P

12:25 PM
@oAlt Correct!
the wordplay is not great
@oAlt I refuse!

12:58 PM
@AncientSwordRage Lolll

Gabe WhiteI am working on a fair 9-sided die and I settled on a design where you select three edges of a cube where the two sides that one edge touches don't overlap with any of the other sides touched by the other edges, then chamfer those edges off. This results in three rectangular faces (previously edg...
