9:58 AM
@mickep ooh we ducks are very good at keeping secrets

10:16 AM
@PauloCereda Oh, indeed
@PauloCereda Just submitted a Lucida article. Probably done with the fixing now.

10:34 AM
@PauloCereda dodos not so much, I guess that's why they've gone extinct.

The new PM comes into office on St.Crispin‘s Day: vimeo.com/295353434

2 hours later…
12:30 PM
Another day, another TUGboat

@JosephWright Oh, the editors get a lot of work these days. :)

1:25 PM
@UlrikeFischer See title of the letter

@JosephWright ;-)
@JosephWright my husband notes that today is also the anniversary of the Charge of the Light Brigade.

2:11 PM
@UlrikeFischer Ah yes, another Great British victory ;)

2:28 PM
@Skillmon ooh
@JosephWright Gotta love the comments, I believe he is prescribing the Prime Minister paracetamol three times a day. :)

2:42 PM
@PauloCereda I wonder if anybody tried handwriting recognition on that one :)

@samcarter ooh

3:11 PM
@samcarter 'It's handwriting'

Does anyone know of any font that uses flac, except for cambria?

3:56 PM
stix2 according to https://ctan.org/tex-archive/fonts/stix2-otf STIX Two Math implements the following font features:

ccmp Glyph Composition/Decomposition
dtls Dotless forms of i and j
flac Flattened accents
ssty Math Script style alternates

@DavidCarlisle Seems the actives plan is popular

@JosephWright ah I should check mail, been working:-)

@DavidCarlisle It's fun
@DavidCarlisle I've just caught up after making some videos :)

@DavidCarlisle Hm, thanks. I just tried out a few glyphs and did not see anything there. But I better open up the font and look more closely.

@mickep @UlrikeFischer taught me always to have implicit faith in the documentation.

4:19 PM
@DavidCarlisle Oh, very advanced. I now did a grep in the font files, and it seems to be only cambria and stixtwo. Cambria has useless wide hats, checks and tilde, and stixtwo has ibreve, iogonek, dottlessi, and a few more. Seems like something one can live without.
Hm, or maybe I'm wrong...

@mickep who needs accents anyway?
4

@DavidCarlisle One can wonder what good they have done for the dôdôs.

4:45 PM
ewww Python 3.11

@DavidCarlisle You see, fun ;)
@PauloCereda ??

@JosephWright new version of the snake :)

@PauloCereda And new bug report on arara today ;)

@DavidCarlisle Plan to write a full answer to tex.stackexchange.com/questions/662997/… or should I?

@TeXnician oh no

5:08 PM
@JosephWright you can:-)

1 hour later…
6:26 PM
@DavidCarlisle Done

@JosephWright voted:-)

@DavidCarlisle Wants to be glad we are not still using cons ;)

1 hour later…
7:54 PM
@DavidCarlisle How many question marks can you conjure up from Termes Math? :)

@Skillmon We are looking at actives: do you know if there actually is an example with active-comma?

@mickep ? ? ? ?

@DavidCarlisle Haha, not bad. But those are not from Termes Math. :P

@JosephWright beamer/beamerbasedecode.sty: \catcode`\,=\active ?
@JosephWright also bgteubner/bgteubner.cls abntexto/abntexto.cls
@mickep not my fault access to css here is, er..., limited

@DavidCarlisle I don't know how to blame.

8:06 PM
@mickep easy, just say "I blame @UlrikeFischer"
@mickep in lmtx math can you have a variable alphabet (like class 7) without giving up the mathclass for spacing. Could you have a variable font \mathpunct "?" ?

8:25 PM
@DavidCarlisle There only to cover the case where someone has made comma active
@DavidCarlisle Both are to set up math active ,

@JosephWright not much else turned up:-)

@DavidCarlisle What I thought: we could gain a bit of performance (As could @Skillmon) by dropping worrying about , right now
@DavidCarlisle I think you've confused Frank ;)

8:44 PM
@JosephWright but he's right about = I think

@DavidCarlisle Fair enough
@DavidCarlisle But Turkish babel makes it active anyway :)

@JosephWright and is famous for breaking stuff

@DavidCarlisle All true
@DavidCarlisle A clear line, even if it's 'don't make = active', seems fine
