@TheLethalCarrot why did you delete the question about Short Circuit 2? It wasn't a great question, admittedly, but still.
Or was it the user being a bad actor? (I now notice they've been deleted).

It wasn't a problem with the question, lets just say that ;P

I was trying to find the scene on YouTube.

You are welcome to ask the question yourself if you want

Nah, I'm not that interested in it.
It isn't a question about a sfnal aspect of the film.
The answer was probably OP overlooking that they gave her the robot or something.

How should we tag questions about David Brin's Uplift universe? There's a but it seems to have some questions unrelated to that universe too; and scifi.stackexchange.com/q/7767/4918 is about that universe but not tagged by .
Though at least it seems like there aren't many such questions, so we have a chance to fix the tags.

I would strongly contest they belong onto the ID questions that have them, though.
Were they about...uplifiting books?

@NapoleonWilson It's complicated, because the tag description for suggests that it's about the sci-fi concept, not specifically David Brin's books. Which can be fine, but then we have to tag the David Brin books somehow, at least with an author tag.
Especially since they don't have a theme naming title like "Harry Potter and the" that you can search for.

I see.

2:33 PM
The tag description is pretty clear that it's about the process, not specifically about Brin's work. I'd say we just create an tag for questions about Brin's fiction.

@DavidW hmm, let me try to search for all six or seven book titles

("Uplift Universe" being the term used by ISFDb and Wikipedia.)

only 6 questions are tagged by by the way

At least one of those doesn't need the author tag if we have a proper universe tag.

SQB
The Uplift Universe is a fictional universe created by American science fiction writer David Brin. A central feature in this universe is the process of biological uplift. His books which take place in this universe are: Sundiver (1980) Startide Rising (1983) The Uplift War (1987) The Uplift Trilogy (sometimes called the Uplift Storm trilogy): Brightness Reef (1995) Infinity's Shore (1996) Heaven's Reach (1998)There is also a short story, "Aficionado" (originally titled "Life in the Extreme"), published in 1998, which serves as a prequel to the series as a whole (it also serves as a part o...
Wikipedia agrees with that name.

@DavidW whereas scifi.stackexchange.com/q/87293/4918 should probably gain

We have one question tagged that's actually about The Uplift War.
Since it's asking about the author's intentions, I don't really disagree, but it really should have as a work tag.

Does anyone have any objections if I go ahead and start creating some proper work tags (like )?

@DavidW I suggest waiting at least a little bit for more chat feedback
@b_jonas is the only question I found besides the ones tagged or

SQB
@DavidW I'm fine with it.
@DavidW I'd cut the usage guidance down, though. What you're saying about when it happens, belongs in the tag wiki instead.
Usage guidance is really just confirmation that it's the correct tag and additional usage guidance such as supplementary tags.
So for instance, might be something like
> For questions about David Brin's "The Uplift War," the third book in the Uplift Universe sequence. Tag with [uplift-universe] as well.
And would be something like
> For questions about David Brin's Uplift Universe. Tag with the appropriate tag for the individual work as well. For the general concept of uplifting, use [uplift].
So what and how, basically.
Not that our current tags all follow that rule, but that's what it should be.

3:23 PM
@SQB I suspect that we don't need tags for the individual books, given how few of these questions we have, plus scifi.stackexchange.com/q/1098/4918 and scifi.stackexchange.com/q/7767/4918 might call for evidence from the whole series, so that would just lead to the same sort of problem as tagging many HP questions with all seven main book tags.

SQB
@b_jonas I still think we should have tags for the individual Harry Potter books, films, and other works.
