5:35 AM
Does anybody know enough Chinese to read this?
It seems it's a Chinese manual on MetaPost

1 hour later…
6:46 AM
@UlrikeFischer Ok. So I need to enable LuaTeX font methods?
Is the syntax OK for LuaTeX, though?

7:11 AM
If one is using fonts with LuaTeX is there some simple document to read? Like a "Font For Dummies" thing?

7:25 AM
@DavidCarlisle Stats look good

7:37 AM
@FaheemMitha there is the fontspec documentation.

@UlrikeFischer OK.

@egreg, @barbarabeeton (@DavidCarlisle) Working on siunitx v3, I'm wondering about spacing for >1.2 and >-1.2: at the present I have \mathord{>}1.2 which is definitely wrong when we get \mathord{>}-1.2. Thoughts?

@DavidCarlisle wouldn't that cause issues/warnings with \ProvidesPackage and name conflicts? I thought the individual rollback code had some functionality to suppress this.

8:34 AM
quack

@PauloCereda /quack

@JosephWright ooh another duck

@PauloCereda Seen Skype?

@JosephWright oopsie, logging in

@PauloCereda :)

8:46 AM
@Skillmon not necessarily if they are both claiming to Provide the same package, you can switch in the older one. The rollback code handles \endinput in the case of a user supplied date but not I think frim an internal test but that does mean that before the rollback declarations you could test the format date and "fake" a [=old-date] argument.
@PauloCereda Bigger breakfast

@DavidCarlisle oh no

@JosephWright {-}1.2 ? (you could always do that for prefix -, not just if there is a > in front)

@DavidCarlisle I was thinking the same: end up with >\mathord{-}1.2 I think
@DavidCarlisle I'm trying if possible to make the formatted text clear, so \mathord{<thing>} rather than just {<thing>}
@DavidCarlisle I'm mainly not sure what the 'right' spacing is in the first place ...

@JosephWright that wasted byte of token memory :(

@DavidCarlisle :)

8:53 AM
@JosephWright for prefix - I think you also want the mathord spacing, arguably \mathord{-1.2} treating the whole thing as a single numeric literal, prefix > is a bit more subjective I suspect

@JosephWright I think that the key here is to keep the - unary. I like the last one, but that just my opinion:
\documentclass{article}
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\begin{document}
\begin{tabular}{llll}
           & 1.2 & -1.2 & \{-1.2\} \\
    normal:& ${}>1.2$ & ${}>-1.2$ & ${}>-1.2$\\
    ord:   & $\mathord{>}1.2$ & $\mathord{>}-1.2$ & $\mathord{>}{-1.2}$\\
    ord +,:& $\mathord{>}\,1.2$ & $\mathord{>}\,-1.2$ & $\mathord{>}\,{-1.2}$\\
\end{tabular}
\end{document}

@DavidCarlisle OK, I'll look at some minor adjustments
@Rmano I could add a key for an extract piece of spacing - that's easily done
@DavidCarlisle, @Rmano So I guess logic is that if there is a comparator and a sign, I need \mathord around the sign
@DavidCarlisle There is actually a deeper reason I want the \mathord: it's a marker I can use in text mode for search-and-replace, which is not really doable with just {...}
@Rmano I'll think about the extra spacing: that's easy to add-in, so perhaps one for v3.1

@JosephWright that works but as I say I think the consistent thing to do is markup negative numbers so they don't ever get an infix - so \mathord{-1.2} then the comparator can be handled the same way whatever the sign of the numeric part

@DavidCarlisle I can't do that: it makes the number a single brace group, and that cannot be aligned at the .
@DavidCarlisle The closest I can get is \mathord{-1}.2, but I don't like that - looks ugly

@JosephWright Plain $>{-1.2}$ works well too. I suppose that enclosing in braces is similar to \mathord{-1.2}
@JosephWright aahhhh, yep, didn't think about it. S is complex

9:04 AM
@JosephWright ah

@Rmano See my previous comments - I really need 'some macro', and at a conceptual level I prefer the idea that you are explicit about the effects on spacing

oh @JosephWright you have competition? [16/33, 00:55/01:49] update: physunits [111k] (54588 -> 58728) ... done

@Rmano The aim in v3 is to have more of the code use common paths - I'm taking an idea from pgfplotstable to use a shared routine for normal numbers and table ones
@DavidCarlisle I'd seen that a while ago - it's ... more like older unit packages

tlmgr updated at texlive.net

@DavidCarlisle Yay - on a cron job?
@DavidCarlisle See Skype

9:23 AM
@JosephWright no I just logged in and ran it, I ought to put it on cron I guess
@JosephWright yes seen thanks:-)

9:34 AM
@JosephWright Hmm... \Volt[\micro] against \si{\micro\volt} --- I prefer @JosephWright's one. ;-)

@Rmano ducks are good at units

@JosephWright while at it, is this: \DeclareSIUnit{\Vsqrthz}{\volt\per{\ensuremath{\sqrt{\hertz}}}} the correct way to do it?

@PauloCereda 180℃ until golden brown?

@Rmano Not really, no
@Rmano That' will be a 'literal' unit, as it can't be parsed

@JosephWright I supposed it... the result:

9:44 AM
@DavidCarlisle oh no

of \SI{3}{\nano\Vsqrthz} is legible, but should have less space around / I suppose.

@Rmano I can't (readily) parse units using \sqrt: you want \tothe{0.5}

@JosephWright Yes --- that's the logical option. But in electronic noise papers (and data sheets) the use of $\sqrt{\text{Hz}}$ is really common and quite ingrained. I normally work around it because I do not really like that unit and prefer using PSD (\volt\squared\per\hertz) which is more physical anyway, but... you know, reviewers...

@Rmano I will log that as a request: I can see how to do it, but perhaps not for v3.0.0

@JosephWright Ok, that would be great.

@JosephWright thanks, commented so that I'll track.

@Rmano Great

Hi. I have installed tl21 in my home dir and only set the PATH to the binary dir, but when I run tlmgr update --all --self, I get this strange error: tlmgr: Local TeX Live (2020) is older than remote repository (2021). Whats going on? I have chosen https://ctan.kako-dev.de/systems/texlive/tlnet as repo, which is listed as up-to-date on http://dante.ctan.org/mirmon/.

10:47 AM
@AlexG the remote repo seems to be okay, but locally tlmgr finds something from 2020. Perhaps you have some symlinks or similar?

Which Symlinks? I have ~/bin/texlive/2020 and ~/bin/texlive/2021 coexisting, but nothing else of my environment than PATH carries any tex-related information. It is only the path to the tl21 binaries that it is pointing to.

@AlexG I know it's trivial, but have you checked which tlmgr?

@AlexG don't ask me ;-) I'm on windows, I'm only throwing in words I heard in this connection.

/home/grahn/bin/texlive/2021/bin/x86_64-linux/tlmgr
Maybe I had better not installed TL21 on 1st April?

@AlexG ;-). Do you have something in texmf-local which could interfer?

11:02 AM
I removed all ~/.tex* beforehand. I even don't have a system-wide TeX installation of my Linux distro.

@AlexG What does echo $PATH say?

@AlexG but what about texmf-local?

@UlrikeFischer There is only texmf-local in texlive/2021
@PauloCereda /home/grahn/bin/texlive/2021/bin/x86_64-linux

@AlexG ah okay, which distro?

@AlexG hm, I don't know much about the linux pathes, but normally texmf-local is shared between the texlive version, and for me it is beside texlive/2021 and not in the folder. Did you make a normal installation?

11:10 AM
@PauloCereda Gentoo. But nothing tex-related installed.

@AlexG ooh. :) Next step, which -a tlmgr

@UlrikeFischer I did a portable installation, where I have to manually set PATH, MANPATH, INFOPATH to have TeX work at all. And as I said before, only PATH has a tex-related setting and this one is correct (see above).
@PauloCereda /home/grahn/bin/texlive/2021/bin/x86_64-linux/tlmgr

@AlexG hm so I suspect the repo is older
$ tlmgr update --all --repository ftp.fau.de/ctan/systems/texlive/tlnet
^^ @AlexG does it work with this one?

@PauloCereda 1st April issue? Should I redo the installation?

@AlexG no, please! Try the above command.

11:15 AM
@PauloCereda I will try, but kako-dev, that I am using right now is only one hour old.

@AlexG oh let me investigate

@PauloCereda It doesn't work. I get the same error: tlmgr: Local TeX Live (2020) is older than remote repository (2021).

@AlexG ouch, will check

I guess I should redo the installation.

@AlexG Probably the easiest solution. :(

11:19 AM
Besides the error msg, it also says:
Cross release updates are only supported with
update-tlmgr-latest(.sh/.exe) --update
See https://tug.org/texlive/upgrade.html for details.

@AlexG What does happen if you explicitly call /home/grahn/bin/texlive/2021/bin/x86_64-linux/tlmgr update -all?

@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 The same. Also, my PATH points to the same location.

@AlexG Very strange! I'd vote for reinstall...

@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 Yes, I re-fetch the installer (mirror.ctan.org/systems/texlive/tlnet/install-tl-unx.tar.gz) and redo everything.

12:22 PM
@DavidCarlisle yep, that's what I planned to do. I think a \pkgcls@parse@date@arg{=v1} or similar should do, but need to test.

12:54 PM
@Skillmon Here, take a carrot i.stack.imgur.com/YhEj9.png

@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 a great package! And thanks, here, have one, too: <3

@PauloCereda @UlrikeFischer @samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21Yay, the new installation (made with install-tl-20210405) works!

@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 ooh
@AlexG YAY!

@PauloCereda And arara was the first pkg to be updated

@AlexG <3 Still not the last version, hopefully for tomorrow. :)

1:08 PM
@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 it clashes with the tikzlings ;-(

@Skillmon yum, yum! Delicious carrot :)

@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 ooh carrots

@AlexG That's good news!
@UlrikeFischer yes :( Maybe I can an (optional) prefix to avoid the worst of the clash

@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 perhaps you could write a \tikzling{name} command and an option to load the package without the other names (and suggest to the other package to do this too, defining to many commands unconditionally is a problem ...).

@UlrikeFischer \tikzling is already used for a random tikzling

1:16 PM
@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 ;-(.

@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 then \usetikzling{<name>} instead for the suggested syntax?

Declare it a feature and tell people to only load the sub-packages they need, e.g. \usepackage{tikzlings-anteaters} if they experience problems with clashes?

@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 picture mode option?

The tikzducks do have such an option
\begin{picture}(42,44)
\picduck
\end{picture}

@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 ooooooh!

1:22 PM
@Plergux you mean baaaa?

@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 is it usable without that option?

@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 ahhem cough cough baa!

@Plergux Here, take a cough drop >o<
@DavidCarlisle of course not :)

@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 Thank you! hic

1:24 PM
@Plergux ooh

@Plergux ^^^ Duolingo just had this exercise :)

@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 :D

@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 You live in a supermarket?!?!?
:)

@JosephWright Very convenient for getting a snack :)

@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 ooh snacks

1:35 PM
@JosephWright (actually my grandparents had one, but that was ages before my time)

2 hours later…
3:13 PM
^^ @DavidCarlisle @JosephWright @UlrikeFischer hmmmmmmm

@PauloCereda Two important dates coming up 2021-04-20 arara's birthday and 2021-04-24 fedora 34 release :D

@PabloGonzálezL <3
@PabloGonzálezL wait what?! I had no idea of this date. :)

cis
Hallo my friends in the U.S.!

Can you help me please?
What does she say here?

3:30 PM
@LaTeX-team does the following look ok, or should I change it in some way?
\IfFormatAtLeastTF{2021/05/01}
  {}
  {%
    \ifx\pkgcls@targetlabel\@empty
      \ifnum\requestedLaTeXdate=\pkgcls@targetdate
        \pkgcls@parse@date@arg{=v0.1}%
      \fi
    \fi
  }
The code checks whether a specific version was requested, if not it auto-loads the version that is compatible with formats older than 2021-05-01.

@Skillmon looks ok to me I think

@cis I'm not a native English speaker (bilingual) but I'd say "I'm kidding you." and "Hey, come on!"
@cis Though the former could be an effect from the text on the video. I've many times been tricked by having a certain phrase in my head beforehand and hearing that phrase as a result even though the audio is something else, often very similar. It could be "I'm killing you" or something similar.

cis
3:45 PM
@Plergux The second sounds for me like "Hey coin!", but the sense.... mmmhhh.

@PauloCereda 'Frank'/'Leslie'

@JosephWright :)

yo'
4:07 PM
@JosephWright Fraslie.

@JosephWright can I occupy some of your time, I have some strange l3build issues.

someone with mactex there?

@Skillmon Sure
@UlrikeFischer Yes

@JosephWright could you try tex.stackexchange.com/q/591533/2388 ?

@JosephWright I have no idea why, but if I use checkformat = "latex-dev" one of my tests fails, because the package's \PackageError somehow either doesn't get thrown, or is never reached. But in another file I can't reproduce this. The exact same error is thrown in some standalone file if I run it with pdflatex-dev from the console.

4:22 PM
@UlrikeFischer Works for me

@JosephWright which pdf version do you get? And how does the invocation line look like at the begin of the pdf?

%PDF-1.4
%<C7>쏢
%%Invocation: path/gs -P- -dSAFER -dCompatibilityLevel=1.4 -dALLOWPSTRANSPARENCY -q -P- -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -sstdout=? -sOutputFile=? -P- -dSAFER -dCompatibilityLevel=1.4 -dALLOWPSTRANSPARENCY ?
@UlrikeFischer ^^^
@Skillmon I'd need a link to a repo with the issue to really get anywhere

@JosephWright sure thing :) I'll wrap up what I'm currently doing and commit :) Repo is github.com/Skillmon/tex_expkv-opt

@Skillmon Cool

@JosephWright forget about it, I think I know what the issue is...

4:29 PM
@JosephWright one wonder why it still creates 1.4. The main difference to the fault pdf is the missing -dALLOWPSTRANSPARENCY, so I will suggest that at first.

@cis Hey, coins! (There are coins to collect, no?) (I'm not bilingual --- not in English at least).
The other one seems "kidding you!" to me also.

@Skillmon Cool
@UlrikeFischer I just used the standard set up: of course, technically I installed vanilla TL then the MacTeX bits later, but really that should make no odds here

cis
Unlike one knows from Super Mario, in Sonic there are no coins, but rings.
But there are no rings in race-mode either.
So "Hey coins!" must be wrong.

@UlrikeFischer -dALLOWPSTRANSPARENCY as otherwise there is an error

@JosephWright very smart, changing expkv-opt to use the @raw@opt lists, but not changing the test files to define the @raw@opt lists wasn't really smart.

4:39 PM
@Skillmon :)

@JosephWright thanks for being a rubber duck :)

@Skillmon Quack

@JosephWright quack
@Skillmon quack

@Plergux @cis I agree, the first one is strongly influenced by the text on the screen, and could just as easily be "I'm killing you" given that these two sounds are very close to each other in American English: the 'd' is [ɾ] and the 'l' is [l] which are both what are called 'liquid' consonants, and articulated at the same place (roughly) in the mouth. The second one is definitely 'Hey, come on', though.

4:54 PM
@cis from what I understood, it's a mod, not an actual, official Sonic game, so nothing is canon, including rings and coins...

cis
@AlanMunn Aha, 'Hey, come on'... mmmh, hard to hear it out for me.
@PauloCereda Yes, it is 'Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart', a fan-game like Mario Kart, but with hundreds of extensions.

@cis so no worries with canon. :)
Romano Giannetti submitted an update to the CircuiTikZ package.

Version:  1.3.3 2021-04-04
@Rmano ooh

5:22 PM
@cis Well, never played to any, so I'm sure you're right. I just saw the circular things with the stars... ;-)

@PauloCereda ... reminds me that I still have to check whether my custom op amp adaptations still work with the recent versions...
@PauloCereda meanwhile there is an update for expkv-opt, that adds support for latex-dev (well, for 2021-05-01 prerelease).

@PauloCereda yay. Let's see what I broke ;-)

@Skillmon yay
@Rmano same :)

yo'
@Rmano you mean which unintended features you added? (See @DavidCarlisle? I'm learning!)
2

@yo' the problem is that I can't say not my fault, arguably...
@PauloCereda how does one subscribe to ctan-announce?

5:33 PM
@Rmano I just check their Twitter. :)
@yo' LOL

Searched in the option in my "settings" to no avail...

@Rmano I would not subscribe to it and simply ask for a CTAN e-mail confirmation. :)

Uff, found a very strange thing on CTAN: If I use "Madrid, Spain" as "Location" in my settings the form explodes ("Property Avatar' with value [B@1bb2153' exceeds the maximum size of 65,536"). If I use "Madrid (Spain)" everything works.
Hmmm.... probably xkcd.com/327? Will see if I can report it.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

@PauloCereda Yes, that what I normally do, probably better. Will follow the RSS feed.

5:44 PM
@Rmano That's good. :)

@PauloCereda the artist signed his work

@UlrikeFischer ooh :)

@JosephWright -- My first reaction is to just wrap both non-digits in braces: {>}{-}1.2.

6:00 PM
@barbarabeeton /poke

@PauloCereda -- Try to be good at keeping a secret! (Guess I should duck.)

@barbarabeeton ooh more secrets

@PauloCereda I want to be able to sleep tonight, so I had to fix this: i.stack.imgur.com/dV3Ad.jpg

@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 NO! that one was right, it was the others that were wrong

@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 ooh

@PauloCereda -- Urk. I just spent most of my morning trying to find something on the web site of a rather major financial institution. Should have been easy, but my contact there admitted, after I explained what I had to do to find this information, that it really isn't obvious. As I've said before, I was meant to be a destructive tester.

@barbarabeeton oh my :(

@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 -- I think another 90 degree counterclockwise rotation.

yo'
@PauloCereda ^^ too weak, too slow

@barbarabeeton Be careful, might induce dizziness :) i.stack.imgur.com/atnmF.jpg

6:26 PM
@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 -- Yes. That's about right. (Even better if you're at the south pole.)

@yo' wow

@barbarabeeton That's how a spider must feel

@samcarter_looks_forward_TUG'21 -- Or little geckos on Caribbean islands. Or even, sometimes, woodpeckers.

@barbarabeeton Cool: more or less what got concluded by @DavidCarlisle (except as I explained to him, I need \mathord in there too)

@JosephWright -- Well, I interpret both as unary, which sort of makes it necessary to treat them as ord. So whatever is necessary to make that happen, ...

6:37 PM
@JosephWright meanwhile the musicxtex example in extra01 works now (make4ht:-)

@DavidCarlisle WOW

@JosephWright the xskak one works here as well but it isn't working at texlive.net for some rason.

@DavidCarlisle what's happening?

@DavidCarlisle not your fault, surely?

@UlrikeFischer locally it works with some warnings but I suspect one of the internal stages is returning a non zero exit code and then the slightly paranoid setup I have online just returns the log not the generated html
@PauloCereda no xskak so clearly @UlrikeFischer's fault.

user image

@DavidCarlisle what did you do to get it work locally?

@UlrikeFischer cheated

@DavidCarlisle LOL

@DavidCarlisle with an image?

@UlrikeFischer he probably included a chess game jpg :)

6:44 PM
@UlrikeFischer well got make4ht to make an image for chesboard and mainline commands, so it's not "an image" you coudl edit the game and get a different image

2 mins ago, by David Carlisle
@UlrikeFischer cheated

@UlrikeFischer if I run make4ht at texlive.net by hand on the commandline I get this texlive.net/zz/ad2.html

@DavidCarlisle hm, one would need to expand the fen, to get a sensible alt text: alt="{\let \xskakget \htxskakget \htchessboard [setfen=\xskakget {nextfen}]}". Or pass the fen to whatever code is used on the various chess sites to show a board ...

7:04 PM
@UlrikeFischer alt text is next problem, just getting to the end with a zero error status is first challenge:-)
@UlrikeFischer I'm just using the simplest tex4ht fallback: make an image of the region and use the tex code as alt text so it doesn't currently know anything about xskak internals

7:17 PM
@DavidCarlisle there is some code from Michal here: tex.stackexchange.com/a/351583/2388

quack

quack

@merrybot dinner (ask @PauloCereda)

@DavidCarlisle oh no

@UlrikeFischer eek :-)

7:30 PM
@DavidCarlisle ;-). It is rather complicated. I wondered if fonts would be easier, but in view of the decorations images are probably better.

@UlrikeFischer also it seems to be using packages like github.com/michal-h21/helpers4ht/blob/master/addfont4ht.sty not in texlive so even if I could get it to work requires a lot of local setup at texlive.net
it is failing as it seems to be running \chessboard more times than expected and one time isn't making an image so it tries to copy an image that isn't there. I may leave it tonight

7:49 PM
@DavidCarlisle yes that would be not sensible.
I got the tick in the metropolis question, my left margin didn't get lost ;-)

@UlrikeFischer you are versed in the black arts

@DavidCarlisle and fearless ;-)

@UlrikeFischer brave enough to step into tex4ht configs?

@DavidCarlisle well the tex4ht language is imho a bit mysterious but I could try.

8:52 PM
@UlrikeFischer @JosephWright not perfect but not a complete failure either davidcarlisle.github.io/latexcgi/test2-make4ht#doc11

@DavidCarlisle the chess example doesn't look bad, but the pgfplots example is missing a bit content ;-)

@UlrikeFischer that file was all the ones that did not work (I went through the whole LL course with default make4ht set) so I'm trying to fix them one by one, bm yesterday chess and music today

@DavidCarlisle what configuration do you use now for the chess example?

@UlrikeFischer as I say I cheated a bit and this isn't as generic as it could be but if I can get them all working more or less they can be improved later by someone who understands tex4ht:-)

9:07 PM
@DavidCarlisle and the call is simply make4ht ?

@UlrikeFischer make4ht file.tex 2,mathjax but I dont think the 2,mathjax` is relevant here

9:18 PM
@DavidCarlisle it compiles but there are some warnings. Any idea where one can add a handcrafted alt text?

I just had a look at thttps://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/11/ because I was looking for a book that also includes LuaTeX. Are you aware of a book that includes LuaTeX?

@UlrikeFischer the optional arg of Picture* is the alt text, that's why it is running \thexsktoks twice the first one just puts the unexpanded code in alt
@Dr.ManuelKuehner don't know of a book. texdoc luatex has the luatex manual. That and texdoc fontspec is pretty much all you need to get started with lualatex over any latex tutorial

Hello Mr. David
@DavidCarlisle. Hello Mr. David
I am using IEEETrans document. I am trying to add a new line to the algorithm without numbering it, any idea how to do that please?

9:37 PM
@Abraheem no sorry have no idea, why ask me? If you ask on site with an example someone familiar with algorithm packages will probably answer

9:50 PM
@DavidCarlisle I got at least a fen: src="test-nomgt1x.png" alt="rnbqkbnr/pppp1ppp/8/4p3/4P3/5N2/PPPP1PPP/RNBQKB1R b KQkq - 1 2" />

@UlrikeFischer that probably means more to you than it does to me:-)
@UlrikeFischer but if you send me the .4ht file I could put on texlive.net.....

@DavidCarlisle ;-). basically it is simply an 8x8 matrix, 4p3 e.g. means 4 empty field, a black pawn, 3 empty fields. rnb is (black) rook, knight, bishop. At the end is some info about who is to move and so one.
@DavidCarlisle I simply used this for now, but it is a bit cheating too, as it assumes that the board shows the game position. I can in theory extract the position from the board, but I'm not sure about the timing, I'm then probably too late for the alt.
[\HCode{\htxskakget{nextfen}}]

@UlrikeFischer hmm in that case it is (possibly) possible not to grab the envronment body at all, as it is only used once. But won't chaneg thet for now. Let me try adding that...

@DavidCarlisle I made a copy of the image code as I wasn't sure if it clash with your other code:
\newtoks\xsktoksChessboard
\def\ImageAltChessboard{\afterassignment\setimgChessboard\xsktoksChessboard}
\def\setimgChessboard{\Picture*[\HCode{\htxskakget{nextfen}}]{}\the\xsktoksChessboard\EndPicture}

10:08 PM
@UlrikeFischer try now
seems to work
@UlrikeFischer what makes the black or white box to the right of the board, presumably denoting whose move it is, that seems ti have gone but I do not know where (not gone due to your change, I never got it to appear in the html or image)

10:23 PM
@DavidCarlisle yes curious. I thought is it is perhaps outside the bounding box, but enlarging it doesn't change it. But I get lots of warnings from dvipng.

10:38 PM
@DavidCarlisle Thanks Mr. David :)

10:52 PM
@Dr.ManuelKuehner there is also learnlatex.org/en/lesson-14

@DavidCarlisle Thanks! I now see that my question was maybe not clear enough. In some answers (from the pros here) I see code like \cs_set:Nn \__lforeach_temp:n { #2 } and I do not have a clue what this means :). I assume that this is Lua and I was wondering if there are already books that explain the usage of Lua in LaTeX. But nvm, I do not want to "steal" too much time.

@Dr.ManuelKuehner no that is not lua at all, it is tex (would also work in pdflatex or xelatex) that is expl3 macros.

@DavidCarlisle Ahhh, thanks. Then my assumption was utterly wrong. (not sure if I use "utterly" correctly)

@Dr.ManuelKuehner the code you show is exactly \def\tmp#1#2{#2}

@DavidCarlisle Ok, then I know know what I do not know...which is something :). At least, I can google it now.

11:02 PM
@Dr.ManuelKuehner texdoc interface3 but perhaps start with texdoc expl3

@DavidCarlisle Got it, thx. Sounds like a style guide :).

11:34 PM
@DavidCarlisle @Dr.ManuelKuehner It is actually \def\tmp#1{#2}, thus an error (\cs_set:Nn counts the :n and :N in the signature of the macro being defined)
Except in case that code is inside a definition, like in that answer :)

@PhelypeOleinik I wasn't going to mention the error:-)
mhchem example works at LL :-)

@DavidCarlisle They say that there is no error if you ignore it :)

@PhelypeOleinik while you are here a passing duck gave me some words for the LL/pt front page, quack at him if you don't like them.

@DavidCarlisle Oh, I saw. Looks good!
@DavidCarlisle And now I can blame @PauloCereda that duck for any other typo in the translation

@PhelypeOleinik yes naturally

11:51 PM
@PhelypeOleinik Thx!
