@Spevacus Hmm I wasn't sure about whether to watch that. There's no FP, but that's a reputable dept. in a reputable Uni.
I suppose if legit posts turn up, we can unwatch.

@cigien Wow. So I just journeyed over there and this user posted a spam post on the forum site of that uni's website and then proceeded to spam that. What a legend.
Yeah I'll add a notification to Halflife in Charcoal Test. If the next instance(s) are FP, I'll unwatch it.

@Spevacus Ha, that's ballsy. I was a little surprised to see that domain, which is why I searched if the text was copied from somewhere. I wouldn't have bothered otherwise, given the contents on the page.
@Spevacus Sounds great, thanks.

If, in the future, this domain produces a mix of FP and TP (as in, more people spam on its forum site and then post it here) we can produce a tighter watch like we did for fiverr.com - It would be a no-brainer to just watch the /forums extension.

Yeah, I was wondering why they weren't blacklisted, but their last post is FP, which probably unblacklisted them.

@Spevacus Ah, I see. It's interesting to see different blacklister's preferences. Yeah, I felt this username was reasonably uncommon, but I would personally blacklist a relatively common name as well, if there were no FP on SE. Is that ok to do?
Is there any point in watching ketooneshot.com given that keto and keto one are already caught?

I am very suspicious of a brand new account posting a link to a site called tutorialsbuddy

@cigien It depends on how common it is, really. If it's slightly more common than that most recently proposed one of yours, then it might be better as a watch instead. If their spam becomes frequent and they never change usernames, then a blacklist on it would be totally acceptable.

@Spevacus That makes sense. In fact, I blacklisted Franklin Josh and it got approved. They are a very heavy spammer so that's ok, I guess.

5:23 AM
Yeah Franklin Josh (in that order) seems pretty darn uncommon.

Really? I thought that would be fairly common. At least Josh Franklin would be common I think.

It's also relevant to mention that that's case-sensitive. Lots of folks like having lowercase names, too.
(looks at cigien)

yeah, I picked that name to avoid being caught as a spammer ;)

LOL

5:28 AM
@cigien not reall, other than maybe as a prelude to blacklisting the domain

@tripleee I see. So that's a yes? It's the first hit for that domain on MS, but the keto chappies are persistent. Should I watch it then?

@cigien no real need, but if you feel it helps you keep an eye on them, no objections either
I have added a notification for myself so I should get an alert from Halflife when they reach 3 hits

@tripleee No, I don't think it would help much, since it contains keto which already has a high weight. I'll leave it.

@tripleee Ah, new keyboard? I was wondering if you meant new layout. Switching that can lead to a lot of hilarity on chat :)

5:36 AM
I had configured caps lock as ctrl on the main keyboard and that doesn't work on this one any longer so there could be SOME HILARIOUS ACCIDENTS

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro and a 2019 MacBook Pro. I can't decide which keyboard I hate more

my previous one was a 2015 IIRC and that was relatively fine but this 2019 one I never really got used to and I don't think I want to if I can avoid it

I also love my Caps Lock is Escape, which leads to incredible frustration when trying to assist my wife in her data analysis.
Did you get a touch bar? That must be a shock.

yeah, why did they drop Esc when obviously nobody with two intact neurons wants Caps Lock?
yeah, hate the touch bar too

Yeah... I'm on the fence. I just use BetterTouchTool to use it for other things.
My wife is like, "but I use Caps Lock all the time!" I can't understand. I may need to investigate neuron count.

5:42 AM
I think I read an article somewhere claiming that disabling caps-lock improved the quality of discourse on online forums. I can see that.

Caps lock is cruise control for cool, but you have to know how to steer.

Maybe they should add that to the tour.

Hmm, does Smokey catch posts with a lot of upper-case text?

5:48 AM
it's a good indicator of poor quality but not as such of spam

Not spam, but something that could be a system level block perhaps? Or is that not a good idea?

I'm guessing it will be on the order of "no whitespace in title", i.e. rather FP-prone
not hanging out in the COBOL or SQL tags much but they like shouting, don't they?
LOUD HOWARD IS IN DA HOUSE

while looking at the transcript, I realized there was title is all caps reason.

Haha, SQL is a bit heavy on the upper case that's true.

There used to be some all caps reasons. They were very FP heavy, if my memory serves.
There was also a watch that looked for bold markdown link text. It was a good idea at the time, but was also very FP heavy and was unwatched.

5:53 AM
Yup, looks like "All-caps title" was removed about 4 years ago.
Last SD report with that reason is from 4 1/2 years ago.
