@SmokeDetector f Question is low-quality/unclear. Voting to close.

@RyanM Now I'm trying to figure out why Sonic\Wthe\W\b(\w*([A-z\-])*\w)\b\W([A-z\-]{3,5})hog doesn't match 2 of those.

@SmokeDetector f

Possibly offensive username, not sure what the rules on RU are.

@Mast what is that supposed to match?

12:12 PM

@RyanM The usernames from your cut.
The hogs.
As written it matches all but 2, case-insensitive it maches all but 1.
It was supposed to match them all.

@thesecretmaster I think a combination of both would be most effective. My main thrust after having reviewed around 8,000 of these is that old low weight posts are overwhelmingly, obviously fp. There is little value in requiring a second fp at that point (IMO) for tp and NAA obviously 2 would still apply. Even pushing them to the back of the queue just means that these posts will wait longer and have even less value when (if) they are eventually handled.
Note that with the rate of review before the Barbequeue it would mean that those posts never get reviewed and thus never add any value to the system.

@Mast Yes, but I specifically chose a class of question that is almost guaranteed to be fp even before one trusted fp vote. And failing to an fp state is probably the least problematic failure mode if anything actually is missed (by my understanding do correct me if I'm wrong!). But after 6 months or so, the vast vast majority of spam has been detected already.
Don't forget we are talking about only 1 weight reports here only.

@Rubiksmoose hmmm, that's an interesting one...I may try to collect some data after I've slept
right now I'm too tired to figure out how to write the query, but I think it's within my awake capabilities

@Rubiksmoose Not being reviewed is better than falsely reviewed.
Especially with old posts, with information that may never arise again.

@RyanM No worries! It's far from urgent :)

@Rubiksmoose I kinda think Undo have a point here: "It's a good thought, and would be perfect in a lot of applications, but we value correct data a lot (helps with community trust, etc.) It's better for us to have a big queue and good data than a small queue and questionable data (even if it's right, it's still questionable from the outside)."

@user12986714 Yup.

1:50 PM
I think the risk of things being falsely reviewed this way is miniscule. But yes, if we are myopically focusing on accuracy here, the best thing to do is carry on I guess. Say if the risk of fp from this was 0.01% would it be worth spending 70 man hours to gather that 0.01%?
(0.01% completely made up FWIW)

> Probably. 5% of 20,000 is still 1000 spam posts that you are probably marking as not spam. I don't like probably. Probably means guessing and guessing means inaccuracies.
(From Andy)

@Rubiksmoose You really need to ask the overlords that.
Undo, Art.

My previous attempt in introducing an auto review so old posts can be finished with 1 fp feedback was... well, unsuccessful.

1:54 PM
as a very sporadic reviewer, I don't mind seeing/reviewing fp posts -- it's a nice mental balance for all the true spam we see. Is there a handy-dandy list or queue of low-score 1-fp posts that I can tackle as time permits?

@JeffSchaller Just do the review queue and filter for SO. That's bascially all you'll get right now.
With the current sorting all there is basically is low weight old posts.

@Rubiksmoose fair enough; I'd been tackling it site-by-site to this point. I'll put SO on my list next :)
(or wait a bit, in case the proposal moves forward, eh?!)

(FWIW I'm sure there's a query, I can just say from experience that that filter is bascially the same ATM :) )

Should we be putting a watch on the Swift Safe useraccount?
@user12986714 ^ From your manual reports.

@Undo @ArtOfCode I'm curious what your thought are on this proposal and related discussion. Entirely non-urgent though.

@Mast Depending on how you think they are going to spam in the future
If you think they are going to post cross site spam then probably watch it

At a glance, reasonable

@JeffSchaller and FWIW I agree with you. The fps are generally pretty easy to tackle so they make for a nice quick review :)
