Dannyu NDosI say: My prefix is my abbreviation. My infix is. My suffix is seeing something. Together, I need someone like you. You say: My prefix is a place. My infix is eating something. My suffix is suspicious by its presence. Together, you cannot let the one like me be nothing.

spotted a finnish-language cryptic crossword in the paper! they exist!
these guys have some preeetty original types of wordplay
e.g. the unindicated double hidden word: "Big cat [string containing the letters TIGER in two spots]"
or the hidden-word-plus-double-definition: "Tiger [string containing the letters WOODS] forest"
the unindicated anagram seems to be a common one
i can picture ximenes reading these and doing a well-indicated double facepalm

Q: A rhyming tyobrien riddle

eyl327 With two, I am something you have from birth. With three, I am a time to celebrate their worth. With four, I am a popular dressing or spread. With all five, some people may call me a head. Inspired by tyobrien's riddle format.

Q: Scientifically Themed Rebus/Dingbat Puzzles - Part 4

user110503The same basic idea (I have a lot of these): science-styled expressions that represent some popular media. Previously, some guesses were for things I would say aren't that well known, so keep in mind that if it isn't at least somewhat well known it probably isn't the intended answer. The previous...

Q: visual puzzle with a twist

A.O. The puzzle is found on this website. However, instead of selecting the answer from a list of choices (which is omitted), you're expected to present it. It does not have to be an image; any format that describes the color in each square would suffice. For reference, the colors of the first grid a...

Q: Broken stick riddle

Display mathsThere is a famous mathematical riddle called The Broken Stick Problem. Here’s the extension: If a straight stick is accidentally broken into three pieces, the probability of being able to form a triangle with the three pieces is 1/4. Q: The Eighth Color

JKHAFor this puzzle I've made, guess what is the missing color. You can't use a computer to find the solution. But once you know you have it, you are allowed to use a computer, mostly to select a RGB color. I insist on the no-computers tag: it is way too easy if you are able to search on web :)

@msh210 oh, how does PIG -> COP?

both are slang words for police officers

Avi
ah, interesting
didn't know people were in the habit of calling the police pigs, heh

(I'm not sure "cop" quite counts as slang, as such)

Avi

Q: A hard coding decoding problem

radonIf LAZED is coded as Y1M2Q then what is the code for STERILE? I can not see any patterns. Only thing that I observe is 'A' of LAZED relating to '1' of Y1M2Q since 'A' is the '1'st letter of the alphabet.
