@MartinSleziak Thank you for pointing this out - I had forgotten completely. Yes, I will try to fix it in the next few days (if another moderator doesn't do so first).

Thanks for the reply! I will add a ping for @FedericoPoloni - since the above is related to his post.

@MartinSleziak So, there's a couple things here... The entire mobile web is generic for all sites, not even the minor differences of colors there that you get with the full designs. So, that unity by itself does some of the branding for us. I don't know that the logo itself - a logo that I'm not sure many people would recognize without the text - is sufficient.
On top of that, the other half of the reasoning for not bringing it into the top bar is that it would make the banner unneeded, which we're not willing to do at this time. Too many sites want their banner artwork. Of the sites I've talked to, maybe five want to get rid of the banner and move the logo to the top bar and the others want to keep the banners.

Fair enough. Still I thought it was worth mentioning. (I've mentioned it also on the post on meta. It seems that so far it did not generate too much support.)
BTW what are the next plans with the changes in the site design?
It seems that for now there is silence on this from the MO community - both here in chat and on meta.
If there is need for more input from the MO users, would perhaps making one of the posts help (as I suggested above)?
Or should we simply wait for a bit to see what the DAG Team comes up with?

I guess we quite often visit chat in rather different times - due to different timezones: timeanddate.com/worldclock/usa/austin timeanddate.com/worldclock/slovakia/bratislava :-)

@MartinSleziak Most of the people on staff will be back on Monday. We've got an event this week and also some shuffling of stuff that's may end up delaying things.

So one could say that after Monday holidays are over and things will slowly get to normal.

Yep... or at least, they'll find a new normal.

And if some new stuff concerning the site design comes, it's most likely to happen after that (and after the event you've mentioned.)

Yeah. Things are a bit up in the air because I haven't had a chance to talk to anyone this past week.

Thanks for the response. It's good to know at least a bit about the timeframe (and that the things discussed on meta aren't completely forgotten).
OTOH there is also a silence from the MO users about this in the recent days. Probably for the same reasons - new calendar year and things connected to that. We'll see whether there we'll be some interest in the issues surrounding the site design later.
Probably I should find time at least to try the css provided by Denis Nardin. Just to see how it works. (I'd guess that at least some of the users who prefer the "old look" have done that.)
Sorry, I'll have to leave. See you later!

If MO attracts a lot of people who work at Universities, I'm guessing a lot of them are on holiday at the moment.
Our universities here in Austin start back after the 18th of January.

@MartinSleziak Thanks @MartinSleziak for the ping. Actually I think that the more urgent change in that area is the one you brought up in this meta Q meta.mathoverflow.net/q/3386/1898 Deferring this update means more off-topic questions, which means more noise, more strong feelings towards newbies, and more work for everyone. The last activity on that page seems a promise that the moderators "will look into it" (dating back to last July).

I don't think we need more input from the users. The meta post [I don't like the new design and I am not the only one](https://meta.mathoverflow.net/questions/4005/i-dont-like-the-new-design-and-i-am-not-the-only-one) sits at +46, [How can we visually differentiate MathOverflow from MathStackExchange within the constraints of the new design themes?](https://meta.mathoverflow.net/questions/4004/how-can-we-visually-differentiate-mathoverf
(Why does the chat not render Markdown properly?)

@FedericoPoloni It doesn't work in chat messages with line breaks.
