Q: Why does Mithoron keep putting questions as off-topic?

Whatever question I ask, he put the question as off topic.I don't know why.If I ask what is crystal lattice and tag solid-state,he will put that as offtopic.I wonder if he has no other job.Compared to the questions he downvotes, he answers very less.Please save me from mithoron.

Q: Why does 2,4 DNP give orange colour crystals

Why does 2,4 DNP give orange crystals on reacting with solution of aldehydic or ketonic group. Why does this test give orange crystals. Is this related to the electron emissions? This is just a question from a curious student after 2 hours of lab work.

@Abcd Yeah, that was the other option. Once you have the anion, you can pop of the halide to form a carbene

Use the lone pair to form a double bond. That displaces the electron pair in the bond to be broken and you use that to form the other double bond

The mechanism looks the same if you just start with the anion and do the same thing

But instead of forming the double bond with a cation, you're doing a E1cb type mechanism

@paracetamol The second one is way better than the first, and for the purposes of practising chemists probably enough, even though it is incorrect. It really depends on what you are trying to say with it...

If 1000 kJ of heat is given to 10 kg of water initially at 300C, then what is the final temperature of water, if there are no heat losses involved? (Given, specific heat capacity of water is 4186 J/kg.K)
