Anyone, what paper is Yomen referring to in this answer: "Angew. Chem. , 75 , 793 (1963)"? Also, I think "l,4–difluoro–1,3–butadiene" is probably a typo. Please have a look, the question is popular (21k views).
@CowperKettle Oh? I must've remembered that wrong then ._.
@CowperKettle Your sister was an observer with the embassy in New Delhi? Whoa! :O
@CowperKettle You were an observer too? :D

Assuming revealing your vote isn't taboo: You voted for Yavlinsky, right?
Personally, I've taken a dislike to politicians who throw things (water included) at other people. So I'm not particularly pleased that Sobchak and Zhirinovsky got the vote share they did :/
@paracetamol I have always voted for Yavlinsky, he is level-headed and pro-democracy, and supports social state, which would increase the wages of the poorest and support them.
To anyone flagging 'possible duplicate' comments, be advised that the link between the questions disappears, too. Sometimes, most times, almost always, that is something that is not really wanted. Often those questions are indeed related.
@Martin-マーチン would it be okay if we could flag such a comment for editing and a mod could edit the "Possible duplicate of " part into "Related "? (I can write a userscript for that if it becomes tedious for you) I agree with your idea of linking the related questions, but I hope you too agree that such "possible duplicate" comments aren't the best way to do so.
@GaurangTandon no probs, i've been doing this since i've noticed that they get deleted, that's really not much more work. I can't speak for the other mods though. A custom flag on the comment should do the trick though.
Question:
Identify A and B.
My attempt
The first step will be the attack of $\ce{PhMgX}$ on carbonyl carbon, that is, 1,2 position followed by hydrolysis, yielding an alcohol.
But how does the reaction proceed with $\ce{HClO4}$?
