... buttery males?

@Yuuki well i guess @Yuuki and I are rejoining spain

@Yuuki lol, by that logic the US must still be a British colony right?

@Memor-X we speak spanglish here cabron

12:44 AM
@GodEmperorDune well i guess Spain and the UK can fight over who gets what....or rename the US to Spaigland
the or the USS, the United States of Spaigland

@Memor-X i meant more my region

12:58 AM
good afternoon https://www.thedailybeast.com/neo-nazi-to-plead-guilty-to-trying-to-derail-train-and-screaming-im-the-conductor-bitch/

Putting this in here
Just saw Ash retweet a thing that apparently people are saying cis is an acronym for Comfortable In Skin
What the fuck

@quartata extremely what teh fuck

It's actually so stupid

thats not how latin works at all
> When deputies searched Wilson, he attempted to claim a bulge in his pocket was “my dick,” according to a criminal complaint. The bulge was actually one of two fully loaded guns Wilson was carrying on him, one of which was in the waistband he’d allegedly attempted to reach during the struggle.
(this is back to the neo nazi train hijacker)

@GodEmperorDune it's a horrible story but i am laughing at someone yelling like Principle Lewis from American Dad

1:00 AM
First off it would take a literal chimp not to know cis- as a prefix

Or someone without a high school chemistry education.
Or someone who doesn't remember their high school chemistry.

And secondly, what the fuck is "comfortable in skin" supposed to mean anyway

@quartata It's like fur clothes with the hair stripped off.

@quartata some by your logic bullshit to delegitamize trans people, i imagine

@quartata related to this?

1:02 AM
like "well if you're comfortable after your transition, then you're cis" and like nope nope nope not how it works at all

Yes

also, dumb question, what actually is cis?

@Memor-X opposite of trans

@GodEmperorDune That is surprisingly apt

@Memor-X origin is Latin

1:04 AM
i see

Means "before" I think, it's not technically a root
Oh, Google says "on this side of"
That fits wth the chemistry meaning better

@colorado_kitten @AnaMardoll It's Latin. I learned this from reading about Rome and her two colonies: "Cis-Alpine Gaul" and "Trans-Alpine Gaul"

Disclaimer: I don't do Latin
So people really have no excuse

@colorado_kitten @AnaMardoll Literally: "Gaul on This Side of the Alps" and "Gaul on The Other Side of the Alps" Cis is literally just the Latin opposite of Trans (incidentally in Latin it's pronounced same as "kiss")
@TimStone yeah neonazis can all go in the sea but the personality on this one is interesting

@GodEmperorDune i swear all these people are compensating
Like, all of the nazis I've seen on Twitter are obsessed with dicks
makes you think
Funny, as soon as I say that I get a notification that the sock Cantwell made to harass @socialistdogmom on Twitter got banned
only took them a month

1:17 AM
@quartata i wonder if he'll cry about it

I don't know he still has a podcast for fantasizing about flooding cville with his pure offspring (almost a direct quote)
id like to think me @ing jack helped though
.@jack: its ok for The Brands to make jicama-cactus sundaes, and if you talk Shit about it you,re thrown into a black hole also @jack: horrid ms paint shops of mutilated dachsunds is an exception though, theyre ok. deal with it binch. what happened to the 1st commandment
Anyways that's enough about that particular nazi
Let's move on to the one of the Cheeto variety
The sleazy New York Democrats, and their now disgraced (and run out of town) A.G. Eric Schneiderman, are doing everything they can to sue me on a foundation that took in $18,800,000 and gave out to charity more money than it took in, $19,200,000. I won’t settle this case!...

@quartata best part is that he used the wrong AG

He doesn't seem to know who exactly is suing him, but he is very unhappy

1:36 AM
@quartata Narrator: He settled

lol, c'mon

@Yuuki cursed phrase

@Unionhawk funny, i don't see a verrit code

@GodEmperorDune I'm not sure if he's hacked or not, legitimately
There's either a good point made here, or, I drunkenly have his account
And am making a good point anyway

#BREAKING: Dems beat GOP 21-5 in annual congressional baseball game http://hill.cm/572Gmpk
lol

@Unionhawk Oh man, can't wait for a Democrat to bring up Hillary's emails in the run up to 2020 and we end up with another four years of Trump.

3:46 AM
@Yuuki I mean the real point here is democratic presidents and such have done evil things and we must strive to be not that but yeah sure
And you damn well better believe that's presidents, plural
It is not enough to be against the GOP. There has to be an alternative to them.

4:31 AM
Oh yeah, Democratic presidents have done terrible things but as long as we're under a FPTP, winner-take-all system, I'd rather wait until we pull ahead significantly before we inevitably start shooting ourselves in the foot.

@fredley To be fair, it's only been a few years!
A few years is barely any time at all!
Especially when Brexit was just a political tool to get the rural vote
Oh man

Fuck David Cameron

I just thought of something

@Wipqozn :(

It's like that scene from The Dark Knight
Where Joker is all "I don't have a plan! I'm like a dog chasing a car! I don't know what I'd ever do if I just caught it!

@Wipqozn :(

11:19 AM
@Wipqozn I mean, that's basically how Brexit went down. The people pushing Leave 100% did not expect to get it.

WILL. OF. THE. PEOPLE.
Fuck everything

@ToxicFrog Yeah that's why I said it was like that scene
The whole thing was a political ploy which backfire on everyone
Including the ones who voted for it, since those folks are probably goingt o get hurt the most
MAn I was going to google something but I can't remember what I was going to google
Something about Brexit
probably OH
Basically it was this:

11:51 AM
@Yuuki I think asking the party via primaries to be against some pretty basic shit (ICE as a thing that exists etc) is reasonable.

2 hours later…

I kinda wanted to post that but it wasn't really news (and the ig report was already linked earlier)

@GodEmperorDune @Ash Google has it also, I have that setup on Google.

@KevinvanderVelden It's not news, but it's related to relevant news. So I figured it was probably okay.

@Fluttershy commentary from political figures is fine

> FOR 1ST TIME SINCE WWII, RUSSIA IS THE NATION THAT HAS REDRAWN INT’L BORDERS BY FORCE
> korean war

@TimStone he's gonna get fired

2:55 PM
That rule is mostly concerned with calling out random nobodies on twitter

🤔

@GodEmperorDune I don't think so. I suspect Trump is afraid of Mattis ;-)

@Yuuki Russia and the US divided the peninsula by accident during World War II so technically it might not count
("by accident" in the sense either side thought their group of Koreans would come out on top post-war)

@TimStone Korean War was a proxy war between the US and China though?
Though not officially belligerent during the Korean War (1950–1953), the Soviet Union played a significant, covert role in the conflict. It provided material and medical services, as well as Soviet pilots and aircraft, most notably MiG 15 fighter jets, to aid the North Korean-Chinese forces against the United Nations Forces. == Background == === Soviet Occupation of Northern Korea (1945–1948) === The Soviet 25th Army took part in the Soviet advance into northern Korea immediately after World War II had ended, and was headquartered at Pyongyang for a period. Like the American forces in the south,...
Okay, it was a bit of a side player.

3:05 PM
@Yuuki Japan annexed Korea, the Soviet Union (finally) declared war on Japan and moved into Korea. The US was wary of them claiming all of Korea, so they said "Hey stop at the 38th parallel, and we'll clear out the south", and somehow that happened
So each side thought "Ah, great, once we're done with World War II eventually the Koreans I have helped garner power will take over once everyone reunifies"
But then the whole Cold War happened so things got a bit dicey, the Soviet Union left, and then we got the Korean War

I'm confused.

@TimStone Probably fast because they're on scooters amirite
Pres ended a 19-minute WH driveway press conference asserting that Pres Obama lost Crimea to Russia. "Because Putin didn't respect Pres Obama," said @POTUS. Said Putin didn't respect America under Obama and didn't respect Ukraine. "Pres Obama gave away Crimea."

US to withdraw from UN human rights council: report http://hill.cm/RfX731e
👍

Trump just felt like he put in so much work to be the head of the human rights council (which is typically given to countries with terrible human rights records to shame them) to no avail.
I think Saudi Arabia is the current head?

3:30 PM
Potluck for the People will be occurring as scheduled Sunday

@Unionhawk cops, man
@TimStone tbh i'm surprised we hadn't left yet

@kwelkernbc Reporter: You spoke passionately about the circumstances that led to Otto Warmbier's death. In same breath, you're defending Kim Jong Un's human rights records. How can you do that? Trump: "You know why? Because I don't want to see a nuclear weapon destroy you and your family" https://t.co/RZLElM3qOV

@GodEmperorDune what are they going to do, confirm that yeah actually the City does in fact not care?
seems like a winning strategy by those in charge

ah its that we don't agree with israel being blamed for those bullets colliding with unarmed palestinians
@Unionhawk quietly ignore those providing services and pretend that homelessness not a problem

@TimStone He doesn't? I thought he loved the nuclear?
The power, the devastation?

3:34 PM
We also supposedly were going to stop any potential attack with our awesome missile defense and preemptive strikes

@Yuuki i think its more of a threat

@GodEmperorDune Well we're going to find out Sunday

like stop asking me questions or imma nuke you
trump just got those fun size nukes

@TimStone Oh goddamnit

@GodEmperorDune I mean that's possible too since he told a reporter to be quiet because she was "obnoxious"
I think during the same series of questions

user15026
4:07 PM
@TimStone who is this?

user15026
@TimStone TIL the phrase "made it to unicorn" is a thing

@Ash Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
@Ash Trump's former campaign manager who did all the money laundering and such

@TimStone leaving out the most important part, substantial ties to Russia

user15026
@TimStone ah, okay. I get all these people mixed up

4:22 PM
@fredley he also blocked something related to excessive use of force in mental health units after a 23 year old died

@fredley yeah this MP needs to get in the sea

4:43 PM
@GodEmperorDune The good part is that the sea is never that far away in the UK, so that should be easy enough

user15026
@fredley Seriously, all it takes is one dude with an axe to grind yelling "object"? :(

user15026
(Although it sounds like they can still pass this eventually? Just with a lot more work?)

@Ash apparently this dude has a hardon for making legislation go through the hard way
not objecting to the law, but how its being passed

@TimStone Trump's response to Manafort being jailed was, "He had nothing to do with my campaign." :|

user15026
So he decides puttign people in danger with no recompense is better. GREAT WAY TO MAKE A POINT THERE FIREND

user15026
4:45 PM
@Fluttershy O.o

@Fluttershy lol "look he only picked the vice president who even cares about Pence?"

@Ash yes, exactly
it takes a lot of privilege to take that stance

user15026
Well, he's an old white dude with some power, so that covers that

@Ash i wonder where his "process first" stance would be if this was a law criminalizing viagra theft or w/e
(not really sure what issue affects old white british men)

user15026
Probably different :(

4:55 PM
hmmm, almost like it's actually not about the process at all
This guys Wiki page is just... • he called for the minimum wage to be abolished • he blocked a bill to protect poor countries from "vulture funds" • hosted a meeting of climate-science sceptics • voted against the legislation for same-sex marriage Etc!! What a guy.

@GodEmperorDune I thought about how "sceptics" is pronounced and I realized that I'm fine with it.

user15026
@GodEmperorDune sounds like a real damn peach right there

@Yuuki what a shitty pronounciation

@GodEmperorDune hue

@Yuuki #8B4513

5:37 PM
Is it possible that the US leaving the Human Rights Council has something to do with someone accidentally abbreviating it in a memo and Trump started screaming “lock her up” non-stop when someone read it to him verbatim?

69% of millenials support #MedicareForAll

yeah yeah

this is a serious post about polling not a shitpost
clearly

i'm actually kind of sick of seeing that on my TL lmao
I didn't know the novelty could wear off with this sort of thing but I guess when everyone and their dog retweets it

In order to build a mass movement at the end of the day we need a majority, which is why these numbers are encouraging

5:40 PM
what we really need is 420% support

This is true

@Unionhawk nice

I should dive into the wording of the questions though
there's some ongoing discussion about how we talk about m4a (medicare does not provide comprehensive coverage especially wrt long term care; what we really want is a single government program that does provide comprehensive care, medicare for all is just a nice slogan, and furthermore a proposal to leverage existing frameworks for providing federal health insurance)

Wow, what a tough sentence for Paul Manafort, who has represented Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole and many other top political people and campaigns. Didn’t know Manafort was the head of the Mob. What about Comey and Crooked Hillary and all of the others? Very unfair!

that can't be real

5:43 PM
The head of the Mob was Trump's campaign manager, data accepted

@Unionhawk nice

@TimStone I mean probably

He also thinks Manafort has been sentenced somehow

He's a new york real estate guy lol

Is anybody else saying that Manafort was the head of the Mob? Or is that something that Trump just randomly said out of nowhere?

5:45 PM
I'm going to guess it's just him
but idk

He's trying to say that Manafort's sentence, which doesn't exist because he hasn't gone to trial, is excessively harsh because he's not the head of the Mob, the person who would, apparently, receive the harshest of sentences

@murgatroid99 i mean there have been articles about trump's personal mafia ties, as well as cohen's ties
but manafort was tied to ukranian and russian autocrats, not really the "mob" as one thinks about it
and definitely not "head" of the mob

He's just bringing it up because the Mob is his familiar picture of Crimes
Alan Dershowitz re:Manafort on MSNBC: "Locking someone up before they have been convicted is an anethama to liberty." Um. Each day an estimated 700,000 people sit in jail because they can't afford bail. @AlanDersh can we expect you to speak for these people as well?
1. My dude

@TimStone dammit dersh

2. HE USED HIS BAIL TIME TO DO MORE CRIMES

5:48 PM
@TimStone lmao
buddy,

The bar was so low there! "Don't do more crimes while waiting for your trial" "What if I tampered with witnesses instead?" "Uhhh..."
JUST IN: Judge rejects Cohen attempt to block Stormy Daniels lawyer from speaking to the media http://hill.cm/v2r7pDG
Not surprising. Avenatti should stfu, but Cohen's attempt was legally half-assed

@TimStone i haven't heard from avenatti in a while actually

lol
yesterday, by Tim Stone
I mean to be fair to Trump I guess witness tampering is very mob-like
Oleg Deripaska, the Russian oligarch to whom Paul Manafort allegedly owed $19 m, has a new CEO: Valery Pechenkin, a guy with 30 yrs working for Russian intelligence under his belt. 1997-2000, he was deputy director of the FSB. https://www.rbc.ru/business/15/06/2018/5b237e679a7947a1d8580a9f?from=newsfeed
lol this is a plausible point about why Manafort might not flip, his foreign connections are probably unhappy enough with him to kill him
Which usually would be an unrealistic thing to consider but they've been pretty flagrant about assassinations lately, so 🤷
Just avoid crimes kids, it's the best way

6:13 PM
@TimStone would star if in a different room

Clearly the solution is to quote it in a different room and then star it.

@TimStone Unless it's anarchist praxis in which case do crimes
legal note: do not actually do crimes

@Unionhawk be gay, do crimes

@Ash You'd think what with the everyone being unhappy about what they did

user15026
@TimStone Yeah, I just feel like being like "hello people who make people super mad because you did bad things with data join my team while I yell about someone else's emails" just is a weird idea....but that might just be me

@TimStone Just for those of you playing at home, ignoring the fact that Manafort would surely go down on state charges anyway, he's literally charged with Conspiracy against the United States
So pardoning that is like, uhhh
@Ash His reelection manager Brad Parscale is a trash person, so :|
Oh also I guess Trump has stated Cohen isn't his lawyer anymore too? lol
Fantastic

probably a solid plan

7:16 PM
The bus comes for us all except those of us who don't partner up with someone who would, literally, shove us under a bus
I mean really the only thing preventing Trump from actually doing that is his likely distaste for public transportation

yeah

8:40 PM
but
more importantly
he thinks that saying his philosophy is like Isaac Asimov makes him cool and futuristic

I dunno I still like the first observation especially since Boring has a contract to redo Chicago

@quartata That's kind of unnecessarily dismissive

I guess we won't find out what they're going to do about it Sunday. They've waived the fee.
Hell yeah
They are also going forward offering fee waivers to groups performing free community services

8:57 PM
Is Elon Musk Three Laws compliant?

@murgatroid99 perhaps. but even if he might have been inspired by both Adams and Asimov's writing, their actual philosophies in my opinion don't mix in the "simple" way he claims to perceive

I'm honestly not sure what philosophy you can derive from Douglas Adams's literature.
Carry a towel and cricket is an incredibly offensive game?

@Yuuki there's lots of things there, actually

@quartata Maybe, but claiming "He's only saying this because he thinks it makes him sound cool, and not because it's what he actually believes" is a very dismissive assumption

@Unionhawk yay

9:06 PM
@Yuuki no

@quartata To be fair, a philosophy derived from an author's literature is not the same as the author's philosophy. You could totally extract "abuse is a great way of building character so long as your child wasn't conceived under the influence of a love potion" from Harry Potter but I seriously doubt J.K. Rowling believes that.

I know. I'm basing "inspired by ... writing" from previous things he's said about this
Adams, for instance, does not think that humans were created as computational slaves to find out the question about life, the universe and everything

Incidentally, I think it's kinda f--ked up that by Harry Potter canon, Voldemort was evil mostly because he was born while his father was under a love potion and therefore he (Voldemort) was physically incapable of love.
> J.K. Rowling: It was a symbolic way of showing that he came from a loveless union – but of course, everything would have changed if Merope had survived and raised him herself and loved him.

J.K. Rowling: The enchantment under which Tom Riddle fathered Voldemort is important because it shows coercion, and there can’t be many more prejudicial ways to enter the world than as the result of such a union.
Okay, never mind, my headcanon has been fixed.
Although there are still problems (implication that a child of coerced union like rape for example is predisposed towards evil).

@Yuuki yeaaaaaaaaaaaah JK rowling put a lot of problematic things into the books

Which doesn't negate the good things, it's just that the problematic things need to be talked about so people can see them as being problematic.
