> When deputies searched Wilson, he attempted to claim a bulge in his pocket was “my dick,” according to a criminal complaint. The bulge was actually one of two fully loaded guns Wilson was carrying on him, one of which was in the waistband he’d allegedly attempted to reach during the struggle.

The sleazy New York Democrats, and their now disgraced (and run out of town) A.G. Eric Schneiderman, are doing everything they can to sue me on a foundation that took in $18,800,000 and gave out to charity more money than it took in, $19,200,000. I won’t settle this case!...

Oh yeah, Democratic presidents have done terrible things but as long as we're under a FPTP, winner-take-all system, I'd rather wait until we pull ahead significantly before we inevitably start shooting ourselves in the foot.

Though not officially belligerent during the Korean War (1950–1953), the Soviet Union played a significant, covert role in the conflict. It provided material and medical services, as well as Soviet pilots and aircraft, most notably MiG 15 fighter jets, to aid the North Korean-Chinese forces against the United Nations Forces.
== Background ==
=== Soviet Occupation of Northern Korea (1945–1948) ===
The Soviet 25th Army took part in the Soviet advance into northern Korea immediately after World War II had ended, and was headquartered at Pyongyang for a period. Like the American forces in the south,...
@Yuuki Japan annexed Korea, the Soviet Union (finally) declared war on Japan and moved into Korea. The US was wary of them claiming all of Korea, so they said "Hey stop at the 38th parallel, and we'll clear out the south", and somehow that happened
So each side thought "Ah, great, once we're done with World War II eventually the Koreans I have helped garner power will take over once everyone reunifies"
But then the whole Cold War happened so things got a bit dicey, the Soviet Union left, and then we got the Korean War

Pres ended a 19-minute WH driveway press conference asserting that Pres Obama lost Crimea to Russia. "Because Putin didn't respect Pres Obama," said @POTUS. Said Putin didn't respect America under Obama and didn't respect Ukraine. "Pres Obama gave away Crimea."
Trump just felt like he put in so much work to be the head of the human rights council (which is typically given to countries with terrible human rights records to shame them) to no avail.
@kwelkernbc Reporter: You spoke passionately about the circumstances that led to Otto Warmbier's death. In same breath, you're defending Kim Jong Un's human rights records. How can you do that?
Trump: "You know why? Because I don't want to see a nuclear weapon destroy you and your family" https://t.co/RZLElM3qOV
@GodEmperorDune I mean that's possible too since he told a reporter to be quiet because she was "obnoxious"
I think during the same series of questions

Not actually sure what any of those have to do with putting "America First"

hmmm, almost like it's actually not about the process at all
This guys Wiki page is just...
• he called for the minimum wage to be abolished
• he blocked a bill to protect poor countries from "vulture funds"
• hosted a meeting of climate-science sceptics
• voted against the legislation for same-sex marriage
Etc!!
What a guy.
Is it possible that the US leaving the Human Rights Council has something to do with someone accidentally abbreviating it in a memo and Trump started screaming “lock her up” non-stop when someone read it to him verbatim?
I should dive into the wording of the questions though
there's some ongoing discussion about how we talk about m4a (medicare does not provide comprehensive coverage especially wrt long term care; what we really want is a single government program that does provide comprehensive care, medicare for all is just a nice slogan, and furthermore a proposal to leverage existing frameworks for providing federal health insurance)
Wow, what a tough sentence for Paul Manafort, who has represented Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole and many other top political people and campaigns. Didn’t know Manafort was the head of the Mob. What about Comey and Crooked Hillary and all of the others? Very unfair!
He's trying to say that Manafort's sentence, which doesn't exist because he hasn't gone to trial, is excessively harsh because he's not the head of the Mob, the person who would, apparently, receive the harshest of sentences
He's just bringing it up because the Mob is his familiar picture of Crimes
Alan Dershowitz re:Manafort on MSNBC: "Locking someone up before they have been convicted is an anethama to liberty."
Um.
Each day an estimated 700,000 people sit in jail because they can't afford bail. @AlanDersh can we expect you to speak for these people as well?
I mean to be fair to Trump I guess witness tampering is very mob-like
Oleg Deripaska, the Russian oligarch to whom Paul Manafort allegedly owed $19 m, has a new CEO: Valery Pechenkin, a guy with 30 yrs working for Russian intelligence under his belt. 1997-2000, he was deputy director of the FSB. https://www.rbc.ru/business/15/06/2018/5b237e679a7947a1d8580a9f?from=newsfeed

@TimStone Yeah, I just feel like being like "hello people who make people super mad because you did bad things with data join my team while I yell about someone else's emails" just is a weird idea....but that might just be me
@TimStone Just for those of you playing at home, ignoring the fact that Manafort would surely go down on state charges anyway, he's literally charged with Conspiracy against the United States
So pardoning that is like, uhhh
@Ash His reelection manager Brad Parscale is a trash person, so :|
Oh also I guess Trump has stated Cohen isn't his lawyer anymore too? lol
The bus comes for us all except those of us who don't partner up with someone who would, literally, shove us under a bus

@murgatroid99 perhaps. but even if he might have been inspired by both Adams and Asimov's writing, their actual philosophies in my opinion don't mix in the "simple" way he claims to perceive
@quartata Maybe, but claiming "He's only saying this because he thinks it makes him sound cool, and not because it's what he actually believes" is a very dismissive assumption
@quartata To be fair, a philosophy derived from an author's literature is not the same as the author's philosophy. You could totally extract "abuse is a great way of building character so long as your child wasn't conceived under the influence of a love potion" from Harry Potter but I seriously doubt J.K. Rowling believes that.
Incidentally, I think it's kinda f--ked up that by Harry Potter canon, Voldemort was evil mostly because he was born while his father was under a love potion and therefore he (Voldemort) was physically incapable of love.
> J.K. Rowling: It was a symbolic way of showing that he came from a loveless union – but of course, everything would have changed if Merope had survived and raised him herself and loved him.
J.K. Rowling: The enchantment under which Tom Riddle fathered Voldemort is important because it shows coercion, and there can’t be many more prejudicial ways to enter the world than as the result of such a union.
Okay, never mind, my headcanon has been fixed.
Although there are still problems (implication that a child of coerced union like rape for example is predisposed towards evil).
