@micsthepick @Catija A FIRE button no longer shows on that SD report because the message was edited (ArtOfCode) in order to fix the link to the answer. The Markdown had a space prior to the closing ], which would have resulted in the link being broken (the link text and the bare URL would have been shown). FIRE only monitors for new messages posted by SD and inserts a FIRE button. It does not do so again if the message is edited.

[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Potentially bad keyword in body: Adding AlphaVantage API to Excel Connections? by completen00b on stackoverflow.com
fp- by Tetsuya Yamamoto
@micsthepick You can see it after a page refresh because FIRE adds buttons to all existing SD reports when the page becomes ready. If one of those reports is edited, the edit won't include the FIRE button, as it's not part of what's stored in the chat server. When the edited version is pushed to existing chat instances, it overwrites the message and doesn't contain the FIRE button. FIRE does not re-add a FIRE button after a report is edited. Thus, it won't be displayed until the page is reloaded.

one of the complications of !!/watch is that it doesn't allow you to specify if something should be graduated to username, website, or bad keywords; but usually it's obvious

but now if we want to split out the phone numbers it's a bit challenging because it's not obvious which long sequences of numbers are phone numbers and which are something else
A J

some split the phone number into three parts with dash or something and some write whole in one go.
but there are usually 9 to 12 digits in a phone number.
the ones with a recognizable phone number grouping are eaay, it's when you find a random sequence like 1921681122 in the blacklist is that a phone number, a direct messaging id of some sort (AIM/ICQ/QQ/etc) or just a random sequence?

@Makyen not sure if you get a notification for this, asked on Teams stackoverflow.com/c/charcoal/questions/382
@tripleee That might work. At least it would document the issues somewhere. However, my growing belief is that the real problem is that the dataset which we use to define what the accuracies are doesn't reflect our current detections. In other words, the data that we use for how well the detections work is based on how the detections existed at the time of each post. However, those detections have changed over time. Thus, those numbers don't accurately reflect what the current set actually does.
@tripleee Thanks.
also, a privilege review question: stackoverflow.com/c/charcoal/questions/383
@Makyen I'm thinking something vaguely along the same lines ... in fact I was going to create a Razor query to show performance of an individual detection over time, but I need to go do some actual real work now
(also, should Namecheap actually be demoted to watched NS now that we have a bunch of others which perform even better, and a way to simply watch name servers?)

@tripleee IMO, we should run the current set of detections on all the posts in the MS database (say, weekly) and store in the database an additional set of "reasons" for each post. We could then use those reasons to provide us with accuracies for the current detections, rather than what they were at each separate time a post was scanned (i.e. we will know what 99.75% currently is). This will also allow us to verify things like having created detections to pick up manually reported posts.

@tripleee That could be reasonable, but might be quite time consuming. Defining fine/warning/error could be tricky. A large part of the changes that are made are specifically intended to increase detections. While we could define various criteria which would be bad (e.g. sudden increase in FP w/o increase in TP; sudden loss of detecting TP; etc.), doing so really doesn't/can't account for the drift (increase) in what's detected over time & how that affects aggregate post # detections & weight.

@JakeSymons That brings up an interesting issue. The information that SD deals with is the rendered HTML, not the Markdown (it could get the Markdown, but doesn't). Do we provide feedback based on information which exists in the Markdown, but which SD never sees because it's stripped from the rendered HTML?

@Makyen that's a pretty wacky corner case, but could also be quite important ... Maybe chuck this in a Github issue?
@Zoe Yes, spam. The user is suspended from dba.se for 7 days for promotional content, but still has one answer there with the same link.
