Q: PDF Conversion and Time Stamp Tool - MVP Winforms application to convert Word documents to PDF and add fields and scripts to PDF files

@Mat'sMug I wish "issues" was named better

@Legato Think Raspberry with webserver with servos with LEDs with cameras.

It looks like you're implementing the actual calculator logic in the form itself. That's a good spaghetti recipe. A: Excavator and Marshall badges are being awarded over and over

Nick CraverWe just did a major revamp of how badges are awarded behind the scenes to drastically reduce the load on SQL Server. It now takes advantage of some pre-compute work we're doing to track badge progress in the profile. However, I screwed up 2 queries, specifically the text names of the badges that...

I'm not entirely sober so I won't attempt to fix it (at risk of making it worse), but I concur something should be done. Just not what the proposed edit is.
I'd almost close the question for being too stubby.

Agreed. Seems like a good performance question over there. Voting to close as "Too Broad", since Stack Overflow usually does not deal with Code Review-Style questions. They have too many possible answers. — Vogel612 44 secs ago

it's ruby. it actually is that short.

@WeatherVane: People keep saying that, but I don't think it makes sense. First, code that fails to meet its performance requirements is not working code. Second, in your actual job, would you submit unworkably slow code for code review? — user2357112 28 secs ago
@user2357112 actually Code Review considers code that's provably correct, but slow "working". Time is not always a criterion of "working". Some people don't even have the luxury of codereviews at their jobs (~shudder). Additionally CodeReview.SE has the tags time-limit-exceeded and performance. Such questions are on-topic there. — Vogel612 14 secs ago

Seems like codereview is the dumpster for SO. "Eh, it does not really fit here. Not sure what it does / what the question is.. Hey, try on codereview".

Here's me expecting that if someone is asking "is it possible" that would imply "how would it be done", but I digress. As for the purpose of this rule, the X.C assembly itself currently requires X.B for portions of its code (and needs refactoring), but there is a specific folder that cannot access X.B, thus not allowing us to remove the assembly reference (yet). In addition to that, programmers that are new to our framework regularly want to re-add the assembly, which tends to be missed in code review. As for which code analysis tool, I would lean toward using Roslyn, if possible. — Spazmoose 44 secs ago
