@MrShinyandNew安宇 That's always my concern when trying new foods too. I'm allergic to peanut and shellfish, though not severely. I somehow accidentally ate a bite or two of this coleslaw that contained peanuts and crab at a work party earlier this year, but luckily the stomach upset wasn't enough to make me puke, so I kept the antihistamines down long enough for them to start working. That was fun.

@MrShinyandNew I have tried Thai food, though, but only at one or two restaurants that seem to mark their menus clearly. It does make me nervous, but I love the food.

@aediaλ Thing is, my allergy was a childhood allergy and may be gone. But it was sooo serious, I'm nervous about testing it.

As you can see, I'm not very active on SO. And when I am, I usually don't do much of anything productive.

I have some really stupid questions.

@MrShinyandNew安宇 I have mostly tried things that might hurt me when I already felt sick. I think I tried sushi after a long stomach flu, thinking, "well if raw fish that makes me puke, it'll be just like yesterday". But none of my allergic reactions to food have ever required hospitalization, so I am sometimes willing to take a bit of a chance.

It makes sense that you wouldn't be if you had a more serious reaction.
