Also the +125% penalty on that time challenge is ridiculous

Except dried beans=)

i prefer forking

I seriously hope he meant +25% and it was just a typo

Why not /25% ?

@CatsAreFluffy no, I mean 125. — Seadrus 11 mins ago
Speaking of fluffy cats, welcome to The Nineteenth Byte, @CatsAreFluffy!
Your username is both wonderful and not entirely accurate.

Sooo.... ?

that's interesting. from 6 upvotes to 4 upvotes.

@AlexA. But +125% or 125%?

I meant +125%.

9:04 PM
OK.

or i changed an upvote to a downvote

why?

I really think the penalty is a bit much

Well @CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ is happy about that -125% bonus :P

;)

9:05 PM
@quartata :P I'm certainly not complaining.

I thought Pyth had a two-byte datetime() though
@muddyfish does it not?

@muddyfish It's a challenge about time. I don't want to eliminate languages that cannot do time, but I don't want them to win.

I'm just adding that now
it returns in seconds past epoch though

Oh, rats.

yeah
feature request!

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Considering that, by an amazing coincidence, you implemented date function 3 hours ago, I'm not surprised.

@Dennis it's really kind of scary ._.

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ I thought I had starred Jolf on GitHub but maybe not
Oh, huh.

What is your favourite food?

@flawr burritos

i look for inspiratin in other peopls source code :P

@quartata what are those?

9:09 PM
where should i look next

@flawr You're kidding, right?
They have burritos in Switzerland surely. Maybe not good ones, but they've got to be there.

A burrito (US English /bəˈritoʊ/, buˈrito ) is a type of Mexican and Tex-Mex food, consisting of a wheat flour tortilla wrapped or folded into a cylindrical shape to completely enclose the filling (in contrast to a taco, which is generally formed by simply folding a tortilla in half around a filling, leaving the semicircular perimeter open). The flour tortilla is usually lightly grilled or steamed, to soften it and make it more pliable. In Mexico, meat and refried beans are sometimes the only fillings. dang

@quartata I only heard about them in the US so far. But never seen them here.

thats not what I thought of when I've read about burritos

9:11 PM
But we have Döner and Dürüm instead.

I don't think we have them in the UK?

@muddyfish Burritos come in lots of different sizes and with lots of different fillings
@muddyfish I'm sure you do but they're probably terrible

I'll take your word for it then

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Wait, what do you mean by "data compression"?

A dürüm (Turkish pronunciation: [dyˈɾym], "roll") is a wrap that is usually filled with typical döner kebab ingredients. The wrap is made from lavash or yufka flatbreads. Dürüm is considered one of the ten best Turkish street foods, together with simit, balık-ekmek (fish in a bread, Turkish style), lahmacun, tantuni, midye dolma, kokoreç, kumpir, tavuklu pilav (pilaf with boneless, shredded chicken meat) and börek. == See alsoEdit == Burrito == ReferencesEdit... ==

can I recover some files I deleted from rm -rf or are my files gone forever?

@El'endiaStarman XD shortening the payload of the permalink

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Ah, I see.

you can recover some of them
if you look in your cache
I did it like a year ago

@muddyfish how do I look into my cache

9:15 PM
I'm not sure (I meant RAM)
I think you dump it and then go looking?

@Doorknob ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

@AlexA. Lemongrab makes brilliant dubstep base, it seems.
@flawr I read part of that as "dönger kebab" and I freaked out.

9:17 PM
@VoteToClose It's surprisingly well done, but it can only be so good considering it's dubstep. ;P

-.- ihaichu

apparently chrome stores console history from over a month ago and not something I ran 2 minutes ago ._.

@VoteToClose Eh, Lemongrab is better.

Someone's jealous ._.

@AlexA. Fall, child.

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Who, of what?

@AlexA. True. I've always preferred that one.

Q: Model a probability table using 15-bit fixed probabilities

orlpA histogram is an array of integers that counts the number of times a symbol occurs. For example, for the string "aaabbbabbdebabbbebebdbaaabbabaaaaeebeaabaaba" a histogram is a: 18, b: 18, c: 0, d: 2, e: 6, or [18, 18, 0, 2, 6] in short. If we were to pick a random character out of this string, ...

@Optimizer it is probably your wifi.
I get time-out errors all the time.

lol, really ?
error in wifi gives website 522?

really.
Plus it drops wifi randomly.
I think @VoteToClose had the same problem?

@VoteToClose dropping wifi?

@RikerW That was a hardware issue.

Okay.

Which never got fixed by the repair company. ಠ_ಠ

you should probably switch it off, wait for 15 seconds and switch it back on.

9:29 PM
I think I'm getting hate downvotes ._.

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ What do you mean?

Probably out of jealousy

1. That's downvote, not downvotes.
2. Why would you assume that it's out of hatred?
People get downvotes all the time for one reason or another.

9:33 PM
There is nothing wrong with it?

Not that I know of. You fixed the only issue I saw.

And besides, there's nothing you can do about it.

^

My god
removing the penalty took 20 bytes

@muddyfish Which in my opinion is unfair

9:34 PM
@AlexA. They'd comment. It's for no rational reason.
@El'endiaStarman And duh.

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ So don't worry about it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@quartata I'm really tempted to down vote this, since it's rather ambiguous and poorly written.

@VoteToClose You should s/tempted/going/ ;)
Give in to the power of the downvote

Already taken care of >_>

Same here. >.>

I would as well if I were logged into SO and wasn't too lazy to log in

I down vote always if it's worth it.

10:14 PM
Oyo boyo, it's @Quill!

@MartinBüttner I haven't been paying too much attention to it but I knew it was getting more answers. I'm not too fussed about as long as the languages aren't designed just for the challenge and still follow the posting rules (though I admit I can't be bothered to police them all). The challenge is officially over anyway

Heyo
The internet here doesn't really work ;-;

@somebody Is it still not working? Note that I changed how file loading works and fixed a few tiny bugs in the latest commit, but nothing that should change how the n squared thing works. (Still working on documentation..)
@somebody Also, why are you so interested in Shtriped? Not that I'm offended :P, but I only made it the other day and you're already porting it to python

somebody is forking a lot

@Calvin'sHobbies Your project isn't the only one he has worked/is working on. :P
He also forked VoL and modified it a bit.

Is somebody a sock of a higher rep user? (that we know of)

Personally, I doubt it.

Even if we had looked into it we couldn't say so

@AlexA. Oh sure. Just wondering if they've said so

@Calvin'sHobbies kk... might throw in Retina then...

But I agree with El'endia, I also doubt it.
@Calvin'sHobbies Nope

@Mego Why should it be?

@AlexA. Why not? A large proportion of the answers are CW, and it fits the bill of what CW is for - community-maintained information

10:27 PM
@Mego because I didn't tick the checkbox.

Anonymous
@MartinBüttner Fair enough :P

Still 10.6 qpd.

back when I started that post I was still using meta for polls where I'd just post all the opinions I could think of as CW and let people vote.

@Doorknob No word on Graduation?

I no longer do that, so when I post something like that it does represent my opinion so I don't see any need to distance myself from it by making it CW (and leaving a comment what I would vote on it, because my own upvote is implicit)

Anonymous
10:29 PM
It's in the same vein as loopholes, which is CW. It just seems (minorly) inconsistent that one is CW and the other isn't

Anonymous
It's like, the exact opposite of a big deal though

Which is exactly why we need to make it a big deal :)
Mountains > molehills.

@Calvin'sHobbies Not yet

There are lots of new answers to meta.codegolf.stackexchange.com/questions/2447/… (within the last day or so)

10:37 PM
@muddyfish I noticed that. Kind of weird.

Does getting lots of notifications work for you guys? When I logged on I had a red 12 at the top menu, but clicking it there were only a few things I hadn't already gotten. (And I definitely had plenty of new notifications from new N squared answers)

I haven't noticed a problem with it before. If it's new I wouldn't have, though, since I haven't posted a question in a while and that's pretty much the only time I have that many.

I just posted a bazillion of them, too.

@Calvin'sHobbies if you get multiple comments on the same post, they're collapsed into one item in the notification dropdown (but they're counted individually for the red number)

@Calvin'sHobbies I've noticed such discrepancies multiple times, and I think it's because multiple answers on a question get collapsed into one notification, and likewise for multiple comments on a post.

10:40 PM
as opposed to the app (at least android) that lists all of them individually, but then doesn't show things like edits and bounty notification, but still includes them in the count.
@El'endiaStarman ninja'd

@MartinBüttner I was more specific. :P
You didn't say anything about answers... :P

oh right
probably partly because I wasn't aware of it

(@both of you rather) Ah. Yeah, on the android app I can see all the N squared answers I'm not seeing in chrome

Isabelline /ɪzəˈbɛlɪn/, also known as isabella, is a pale grey-yellow, pale fawn, pale cream-brown or parchment colour. It is primarily found in animal coat colouring, particularly plumage colour in birds and, in Europe, in horses. It also has historically been applied to fashion. The first known record of the word was in 1600 as "isabella colour"; this use later became interchangeable in literature with "isabelline" after the latter was introduced into print in 1859. The origin of the word is unclear; the uncertainty prompted by this has generated several attempts to provide an etymology and led...

Marky's using SE-Chatbot. It seems relatively stable and easy to use. Python though >_<
