@Undo, @NormalHuman, @ProgramFOX. Metasmoke appears to be down since "two days ago". There've been no logged reports since this one and there've been about 13 commits since then.

I think this is by-design, while SD is temporarily hosted by ProgramFOX.

@ProgramFOX Are you able to run Smokey for the next ~36 hours?

Okay. Thanks for the info.

From the timestamp it looks like Undo should be back Saturday morning.

Is there any point in f, k, etc. feedback with Metasmoke down?

4:44 AM
Not as much. Possibly, other users will see f and won't waste time opening the post.

Hey

Oy

So can blaze output JSON?

@TinyGiant What do you mean?
You want to get Blaze output in JSON format?

6:07 PM
If it could, then I could make a userscript to hijack an a non-existent stack overflow page, then I can load the actual post container (just the post container) using some Magic™. Then I can make all of the voting controls work.

@TinyGiant Might be easier to just hit /answers from the API directly.

Hold on.

That's really all Blaze does, with ordering

I thought blaze filtered based on criteria

@TinyGiant Not really
Just based on length. @ArtOfCode wrote some fancy highlighting criteria, but everything is shown.

6:09 PM
Oh, ok.
/posts/ajax-load-realtime/POST_ID loads the post container, controls and all.
Then it's just a matter of attaching the event listeners that are attached normally.
Just an idea anyway.
If I do it as a userscript instead of an external resource, then all of the styling and JavaScript is already available.
So, I just need a way to make it display useful information, which Is when I though of blaze.
I'm not very good with the API (I just like hijacking stuff).
Anyways, I have to run for a bit, but I'm going to start working on something later on. I'll let you know when / if I get somewhere.

@TinyGiant feel free to give me a yell if you're stuck with the api, it does get pretty confusing sometimes.
Hitting the on-site AJAX methods to do stuff generally isn't a great idea, because they're not guaranteed to throw useful errors when something breaks. Especially for voting, where there are hundreds of different types you could pass.

1 hour later…
9:37 PM
@ArtOfCode I generally get around that by using the existing event listeners. (Do it the lazy way :P)
But thanks, yeah if I get stuck I'll let you know.
I'm currently trying to see if I can get a meaningful set of parameters to find questions with close votes, so I can then filter it down to a list of questions with just 4 close votes.

You can do that with 10k tools
There's a page for it

Yeah, but I don't have 10k yet

Start working on that, then ;)

Lol, I try but every time I go looking for questions to answer I just end up spending all of my close votes.

9:58 PM
Soo... how do I get rid of the back-off violation error? Lol, this is why I like the built in ajax methods.

10:13 PM
Listen to the backoff field returned with every query, postpone the following query by backoff*1000 milliseconds with setTimeout.

K, thanks

If I didn't know that SO has Teams, how would I find out?

You wouldn't, yet, because it's in beta
Private beta

Private beta? Looks like everyone can make a team.
I see, there is an opt-in.

Oh, I was thinking of Docs
never mind then

10:16 PM
But you're probably right. I don't see any button for team creation.

Have they sent out the invite for docs yet? I've been searching my email but I haven't found it anywhere.

Yes, judging from the activity at Docs.

Hmm.
What's the URL?

docs-beta.stackexchange.com but you can't get in without an invite.
You can use the API to read it, though.
It's possible that Android and iOS app have the site in their site dropdown, but I haven't checked.

Well that sucks, I signed up the day of the announcement and have been waiting patiently ever since.

10:28 PM
Although, the contents of the site itself is all meta-content, the actual documentation is in a different format, not Q&A.
Maybe fill out the form again? Or contact the team.

Sent a message to the team, will see what happens.
