3:00 PM
I haven't done much at work today :I

Ha, there's a tiny API at StackExchange.stackegg if you pull up your console.
... never mind, I'm too dumb to figure out how to use it, I'll just wrap with the http interface :p
Can we beat it in 300 days???

We are back at full functionality and all stable. We'll keep an eye on the impact of recent features throughout the day.

300 seems a bit hard
We were going so well though

soclose

So... close... ...
At least we might get a new record than our last :]

3:11 PM
12th

Wait, I have a theory.

@Sp3000 Someone managed it already

No, I mean from our current progress

Whenever you hit the dangerous mark when the StackEgg warns you, it seems that you lose definite progress and have overall worse results.
... Do we win the Internet yet?

3:14 PM
Almost...
If we get through this without a raider...

@Unihedro that could be a message for quality over quantity perhaps
from our SE overlords

YES
OMG

Yes!

I WASTED FOUR HOURS HERE

WE'RE NUMBER 1

3:15 PM
YEAH
Quick, screenshot it!

Lol

XD and that's 2 for me, I think I'm done for the night

Hold on!

@ton.yeung They're a CM now.

@ton.yeung He's a CM
He's got a diamond on all sites.

@ton.yeung and got a diamond in each of them too?
@Sp3000 sorry

3:19 PM
Singular they is the use of they, or its inflected or derivative forms, such as them, their, or themselves, to refer to a single person or an antecedent that is grammatically singular. It typically occurs with an antecedent of indeterminate gender, as in sentences such as: "Everyone returned to their seats." "Somebody left their umbrella in the office. Would they please collect it?" "The patient should be told at the outset how much they will be required to pay." "But a journalist should not be forced to reveal their sources." A reason for its use is that English has no dedicated singular personal...
Sorry, I'm a gender agnostic person ;P

Hahaha :P

@Unihedro theory
Vote Nothing next time

.... why?
ok let's try it!

@ton.yeung yes, it does

@Unihedro looking to see if makes progress faster

3:21 PM
@ton.yeung Thank you very much! :)

I think each bar aren't integer values of 0-4, but internally a precision point from 0 - 100%.
And doing nothing just slows down decay instead of capping for no reason.
@/eggplayers theory

@ton.yeung I'm gonna work from home

Let's avoid getting to dangerous marks

kk
@Unihedro but don't try to keep everything at least 1 heart
Max asking first

@MadaraUchiha Max asking in a safe way.

3:24 PM
It can be in the 0 about 2 days before getting red.

Good thinking. Let's follow that!

@Unihedro I used that in some cases also. Sounds weird, but find no better way to refer to someone I don't know the gender

i think we should probably think about it from SEs point of view
when starting up a site you have lots of seeder questions
which then are answered

@ton.yeung There are no girls on the internet

3:26 PM
@ToshinouKyouko Interesting

@ton.yeung depends - some people take offense to that

@AsadaShino inb4 xkcd

@ToshinouKyouko Then they should suck it up ~_~

@Unihedro i forgot where i was going with it

:[
We maxed Questions safely. Well done! :D

3:27 PM
@Unihedro Now quality

I'm voting slower so I can vote what's been voted so as to not get tied for restart :/

I don't mind, but I prefer to use they instead

Or does restart not happen on a tie?

@MadaraUchiha Affirmative

Remember that quality reduces users
2

3:28 PM
@MadaraUchiha Screw users
I mean, oh noes!

@Unihedro It got 10 votes already

Yaaayy!!

Now users, then quality!

3:33 PM

With @MadaraUchiha's trick this isn't hard at all xD

@ton.yeung how so?

@MadaraUchiha Gotcha

3:40 PM
answer, quality, users

Let's click the buttons in cycle until we need a switch
Let's only vote for Nothing when we max out everything. xD

... oh fine :P

Is restart ever worth it I wonder
maybe there's a hidden effect

you guys are so well coordinated @MadaraUchiha lol

Maybe
@BenjaminGruenbaum Hiya!

3:43 PM
Only if you majorly screw up early, I'd assume

3:50 PM
We don't have enough users

I'll call up on CR

that's meaaann

okay now I mad

@ton.yeung this is why I think it should be absolutely fine for the fans to go in and take the game universe in their own hands, make the proper continuation and disregard the official madness

WHY RESTART

3:52 PM
what next
Taisho becomes CM?

They're wasting their time anyway, we already got restarted

@ToshinouKyouko PPCG raided us

that's what we get i guess

3 mins ago, by Madara Uchiha
ELIMINATE THE ENEMY
^^^

3:53 PM
no guys
let's just do productive things instead

:(

I told them anime wouldn't win out in the long run anyway, but they didn't listen :(

enemy will eliminate itself by keeping doing what they're doing
by the time we've left the game, they'll be playing in our favor

I'll stare at the source of the game that totally isn't a diablo2 clone :)

also there might be fraud detection in place
oh man I need some shower and green tea

3:56 PM
Don't give up XD

is it going faster or slower than before

4:11 PM
> This user has been automatically suspended for posting inappropriate content and cannot chat for 29 minutes.
Welp.

looks like doing nothing never helps
all stats just degrade
but if you try to increase em, that stat at least stays
game sounds simple enough

Q: When something that was supposed to be fun became not fun

Simon André ForsbergStackEgg! What a great invention. Probably the best thing to hit Stack Exchange since the invention of unicoins! Very entertaining game, very fun to play. Many users have probably spent several hours playing this. And April Fool's day is not over yet. However, where there is great inventions t...

if I knew how to javascript, I'd automate it

29 mins ago, by Hakase
let's just do productive things instead
hey wait if you make a javascript about it you'd be productive
but you'd also be cheating sooo :P

4:23 PM
yeah well I'm back from the shower, so that was very productive indeed
hey it's not cheating if the automation is playing by the rules
you could say that a computer that plays chess against you is cheating
idk man what are the rules

cheaters never win and winners never cheat

nobody said automations can't play

Yeah!
I can't seem to check correctly when stats reset.

if you cheat, you're only cheating yourself
idk any other cheating things to say

Sometimes I get off-by-one-second error and I hit the "you already voted for this round" message, script dies.

4:25 PM
lol

i got that too but not anymore
refresh page

cheetah land speed can be up to 100-120 km/h

what about cheating death?

cheating death is part of the game of life soz not really cheating :3

plays dead

4:26 PM
ooh that's a cool game 9/10

We should be productive and drooling over girls, not playing site building simulator

@Taisho if it wasn't for the face, I'd put you in my nice pics room
imma go make some tea and then do productive stuff

so what i dont get
is howd we beat arqade

I think it's most wins first, then average days to all stats max least

4:29 PM
we're the best thats why

119 days graduated

we graduated...if only it happened in real life

I don't want that to happen too soon

it's april fools in japan guys!
here's a compilation thread:

@Frosteeze Eventually. Give it time
@Hakase We can try to outsmart them with robots :p
and win

4:34 PM
oh but we can
it just might not be worth it

@ton.yeung this is actually more of a debate between rationalism and emotionalism

Khara, Otaka, Donuts, Bushiroad and New Japan Pro Wrestling announces "Evangelion Battle Mission" where both Pro wrestlers demonstrated fighting each other using Eva Mask and Angels Mask
omg

just got 5 upvotes in less than 5 seconds on meta

Oh.

1306322 is my name

4:35 PM
Nisekoimonogatari. Hah.

@ton.yeung not everything can be explained physically, because we've yet to understand it

@ton.yeung how so?

chemicals man
how do they work

The answer is don't get angry
I am at peace with the world

4:40 PM
I can explain the top 5 claims for considering anger from a cognitive neuroscience perspective, but tying it in with reasoning and morality is a much difficult endeavor because we each have our own distinct archetype of morality
@ton.yeung but ultimately judgement requires thing

think of people like computers − both hardware and software. Robots aren't robots without software, they're just empty shells. I prefer not to distinguish the two when approaching problems that concern both parts at the same time.

otherwise how do we differentiate a clouded mind or a clear mind from a disillusioned mind?
@ton.yeung reactive aggression is the ultimate behavioral expression of anger and thus we can begin to understand anger by understanding reactive aggression

thoughts are affected both by other thoughts and the brain (and so the rest of the body) which contains them, so I don't see the need to look at them separately

neural systems implicated in reactive aggression (amygdala, hypothalamus and periaqueductal gray. i.e., the basic threat system) are critically implicated in anger

but the algo is so complex omg

4:42 PM
@Unihedro i just looked up to the segg and it shows that we're in a public beta now
did we won or wtf happened lol
oh i guess we died

nonono the other sites just vote to restart it

Yep.

@ton.yeung please allow me to establish the top 5 points related to considering anger to we have a base to grow on

without any special research in the field, I can tell that when you get angry, you focus on a very limited outlook on things, so your brain gets tired and can't think better if you keep being angry at something

4:44 PM
it is also believed that factors such as exposure to extreme threat that increase the responsiveness of these systems, should be (and are in the context of PTSD), associated with increased anger
additionally regions of frontal cortex implicated in regulating the basic threat system, when dysfunctional (e.g., in the context of lesions) are believe to be associated with increased anger

it's much like gripping a pen in your hand very hard and at the same time trying to write calligraphy − not gonna work very well

restarting is a bad mechanic - the more popular sites will win as they have more people

what I'm saying will probably be deleted as bullshit answer by the standards of the site :D

@ton.yeung I discussing the issue with you in chat in order to find a better answer to post
it's also worthy to note that frustration occurs when an individual continues to do an action in the expectation of a reward but does not actually receive that reward, and is associated with anger
there have been studies done that show that individuals who show impairment in the ability to alter behavioral responding when actions no longer receive their expected rewards should be (and are in the context of psychopathy) associated with increased anger

@Hakase it's not bad :p

4:48 PM
ye but werz references to kredibl sursez
idk common sense and experience man
but that doesn't count for an answer

@ton.yeung ironically this makes a good segway into the last point someone not doing what another person wants them to do (particularly if this thwarts the person’s goal) is frustrating and consequently anger inducing. the response to such a frustrating social event relies on the neural architecture implicated in changing behavioral responses in non-social frustrating situations
@Hakase whoops xD

dude tl;dr what is your point

@Hakase I'm summarizing the major points in these papers

why

max Ask, Answer, Downvote, Upvote, in that order
2

4:52 PM
@Hakase as a segway to behavioral responses in relation to anger the ton is looking for in his question

but why address me lol
@ʞɹɐzǝɹ oh you thought I was saying that to you
no I meant to say that to Uni, how what I'm saying isn't credible coz I got no sources lol
I thought u were gonna drown me in scientific bullshit that I already know the summary of from my own experience

@ton.yeung our emotions are linked closely with our physical functions
@Hakase nope my bad

is ok let's just have tea and cakes

yay

(neurotically spills tea all over the cake and cuts self with knife accidentally)
my friends have been joking that my body is 80% tea
it's not the best life, but it's my life :p

4:57 PM
basically I'm trying to say anger is often considered to be a response to a perceived threat to oneself or to another. it is also a response to frustration; frustration has long been recognized as a trigger for anger and eventual aggression...
the point I'm trying to make with @ton is while you can try to view of anger in a way that is consistent with contemporary cognitive neuroscience. however, it is not possible to provide a full account of anger since, as an experienced emotion, it would be necessary to have an account of conscious experience, something that is a long way from being achieved

@ton.yeung how much or how little do you want?

what if you regularly pause your angry outlook and look at the situation from a radically different, calm and rational point of view (perhaps even as part of a certain disorder), does that allow to have conscious enough experience to evaluate the situation?
