ugh
Of course it happens while I'm at a music recital thing

4:07 AM
lol

Killing it for now, ssh won't connect

hrm

Gonna try to run it on my closet server
We'll lose CI webhooks but that's it

Part of me wants to hope it was thermite, but...

It was doing this even with Thermite off
(I think)

okay it's back up
I'd like to know what causes that
now erwaysoftware.com isn't running Smokey, just Thermite. We'll see if anything bad happens.

4:28 AM
@Undo like not being able to reach Thermite? :P

user61230
oh it just went up

@Emrakul yeah
I think this might be the problem:
Looking for a way to limit CPU usage

user61230
What's the main abuser of CPU?

@Emrakul Might be Thermite, might be Smokey
Smokey's been caught red-handed using 100% CPU, so I'm kinda suspicious of it

user61230
hm

user61230
well, that suppresses the issue

sure, meaning it doesn't take down my entire infrastructure. Which would be nice :P

user61230
but if it hits 100, might be worth looking into

user61230
yesh

user61230
awww 403 for thermite

4:32 AM
uh oh
crap
there
Apache was unhappy
Thermite has limited CPU now

@Undo I forgot, what does that do again?

@Doorknob It fetches the latest comments on SO and SF, runs a regex on them, and looks whether they might be offensive.

Won't the same problems that happened with Charcoal happen with this

idk, I don't think I already was active in this room when that happened, so I don't know about those problems

The transcript page containing Smokey's message also contains a oneboxed link to a room. So CE finds two rooms, resulting in too many values to unpack, so it crashes.
^ that explains why it didn't want to TP a post in the Tavern

@Undo Your server is responding really slow.

yeah, noticed
Maaaaybe it is thermite

Does Smokey run somewhere else now? The error logs point to a different path.

7:24 PM
@ProgramFOX Yeah, I switched it over to my closet server for now

Ah, okay. That explains why it didn't autopull.

(== until I can figure out why my main one isn't working right)
@ProgramFOX yeah, CI doesn't know my home IP

7:44 PM
@Undo gasp I thought you wanted to tell everyone your IP! ;)

@hichris123 well it's not like it'd be of much use anyway, I can't open the firewall on it even if I wanted to

Some interesting internet content today: 1.) Visited a site that claims that OpenStack will give you high reliability, gives me a 503 error. 2.) Found a 300W UPS that has a battery that lasts... 3 minutes... (I think that's a typo or I read something wrong)

I could believe a 3-minute battery
They only need the battery to last during the transition to a generator

8:08 PM
I think I just made Thermite a bunch more effecient
I was... err... querying the database on every row :P

8:56 PM
@Undo Thermite won't load for me, tried Chrome/FF

@AnnonomusPenguin I know
moving it from SQLite to MySQL

Ok, the pinned item was kinda misleading.

@AnnonomusPenguin well it's been down for all of five minutes :P

Sure....
That's what the sysadmin said.
What stack are you using?
I obviously know it's Ruby

Fixed that for you, @Undo.
