@hichris123 If I use true, it will edit the database. It might happen that something goes wrong later and then an auto-revert will happen. If I would use the true command then, this will also update the database. Won't we get into trouble then when we switch back to master, or does Git change nothing on the database?
@hichris123 A git pull for what? For ChatExchange?
The !!/updatesubmodule command is there so we don't have to ask Undo when there is a new CE version to pull.

@ProgramFOX No, for Smokey. i.e. I update my submodule locally, push the updated submodule to Smokey's repo, and then do a !!/pull.
@ProgramFOX I don't think git should change anything with it. If it does, we'll have a merge issue, and then Undo would have to fix it. But unless anyone pushes an updated database, it shouldn't change anything.

@hichris123 No, I think a !!/pull won't update the submodules automatically.
@hichris123 Yes, and that's what I wanted to avoid, especially because I wasn't sure whether the db gets changes on a GitHub commit sometimes.
@Undo Does it? (see above message)

3:35 PM

@hichris123 A no for what?
It does get updated according to that list.

@ProgramFOX But it never gets updated by anyone but Undo. And IIRC those are a push of the latest db.

@hichris123 True. But this means that a revert still can happen in a commit which also changes the db, which might lead to a merge conflict when switching to master.

3:51 PM
@ProgramFOX Why not then never use !!/pull when updating the database?

@hichris123 That makes sense.

@ProgramFOX I don't ever commit it, and we could probably gitignore it.

@Undo Does gitignore work for files that are already have been commited once?

It still works, trust me.

!!/AlIve?
:o
aha
IndexError

4:52 PM
ah.

Hadn't thought of that.

second_part_lower = message_parts[1].lower()?

yup
I'll need an if statement for that.
But then I don't think the variable will be available outside the if statement.

... or just a ternary statement.

Or I can use a ternary.
ha :D
ugh, I used C# ternary syntax...

@ProgramFOX Of course

@FOX9000 Delete
Why doesn't it listen?

@FOX9000 false

Also, I think the auto-reverter doesn't work well at all locations.
Otherwise it would have reverted.
ah, I know what's wrong

!!/rev

5:02 PM
it ignores our commands because it checks for SmokeDetector's ID.

ah
:P

but it doesn't crash, so that works fine anyway
And I should fix the auto-reverter to work in threads.
!!/pull
(just to try anyway)
nope, not listening to commands anymore

5:19 PM
I think I found a thing for the threads.

!!/raiseException

Yay!
@Undo The auto-reverter works now in threads. Can you please pull? !!/pull won't work because I.. uh... broke things.

If I add more than one word, it still works!
!!/pull without crashing
eh?
!!/alive? test
Nope, not working :(

:(

6:59 PM
ah, of course, my "ohh..." killed it because it's just one word
too bad, now I just had a way to make it work

7:28 PM
restarting it...

!!/pull without crashing
@Undo Did you pull the latest?

8:11 PM
!!/status without crashing

@ProgramFOX Running since 19:42:43 UTC

aha, I'll try now

@Undo @hichris123 It's pulled, everything is repaired.

Good

Yay SR's flag queue is finally clear

@Undo lol you come in just to watch us unbork it. :P

yup

Hey @Seth did you do something weird in that comment? I see the link as http://meta.softwarerecs.stackexchange.com/q/356/%24MYUSERID%24

9:01 PM
@Undo I just copied that out of Izzy's pro-froma answer.
I believe he meant me to replace that with my user id for referrals but meh.
