Oy @hichris123
Wow, you honestly created this?
@hichris123 Created what?
Do you spend like your whole life on obsolete comments?
@hichris123 No, just the past month or so.
@Undo You honestly created a chat room to talk about your tool to remove obsolete comments
00:04
@hichris123 Technically speaking, Manish made it.
Oh, well that makes the difference.
Why is this on chemistry beta?
@hichris123 Because Manish mods Chem and likes to have power over my rooms.
Ah...
So back to plotting.
00:07
@hichris123 Yes.
We need a troop of flaggers
Ten would be about right.
But how are we going to get them?
But I've got to go now, be back soon.
Okay, see you later.
00:21
I return.
Let the plotting commence.
The first step of good plotting is to figure out what our goal is.
I think we have an invader.
Yes...
@RobertHarvey What doth bring thee to this neck of the woods?
Yeesh, we can't even start to plot without being spied on.
Are you a room-owner?
00:23
@hichris123 Yes, but room owners can't do anything to mods.
Well, I assume you can't kick mods out.
Too slow (me).
If we had Manish here he could kick Robert out.
Mods can kick other mods out?
00:24
@hichris123 Manish knows some sekrits.
(because I felt like it)
Okay, I wondered why my window randomly refreshed.
Thanks for telling me, @StackExchange
00:27
@RobertHarvey If we were to create a flagging club that met once a week and flagged 1000 comments, would there be any grumbling mods?
The mod is gone.
Yay!
I'll be back in a few minutes.
@hichris123 Tell me when you're back.
We can do a flag strike while animuson is eating his lasagna.
Sure, right now?
Yes
Using the tool
1...2...3... GO!
00:47
I hate the rate limits.
I do too.
@hichris123 Are you using the webapp?
No, I'm doing the mark my answer as accepted from my query one.
I probably should, but don't feel like opening up chrome.
@hichris123 Oh. Okay, good.
I still need to make it multi-user friendly.
I should pull in some new comments.
@hichris123 Any ideas for a good search?
(to find bad comments)
The one I did yesterday.
Please accept.
Variations.
Hm..
Someone got to most of my flags.
01:08
@Undo You finish all of your flags, too?
And you just helped me earn my first gold badge

3 hours later…

17 hours later…
21:20
@Undo What queries do you run to get the comments?
@hichris123 A simple SELECT * FROM Comments WHERE Text LIKE '%edit%' works quite nicely for me.
@Undo I mean specifically, what words do you look for? It looks like edit, accept answer, and some others.
Are "Please help me" comments too chatty?
21:35
@hichris123 Yeah, they are.
I might put those in.
@hichris123 I look for edit, please accept, added, fix
I'll have to think if there's any more you could use.
I really need to get a local copy of the comments DB
I might have a machine that's up to the task.
A dual-core iMac w/ 1T drive.
@hichris123 How big did you say the comments table was?
(space-wise)
Comments is like 5 GB in MySQL.
Ok, not bad.
A little lower, around 4.5 ish.
21:42
Thanks
Welcome.
