@FEichinger what's wrong with MechJeb?

MechJeb is great for the data readings, and perhaps for the really routine tasks, but it's horrible at a lot of things and it sure as hell isn't good for learning how to do that on your own.

@FEichinger I'm no good at learning to do things on my own.

MechJeb is also great for cheating the framerate limit, but I would never recommend it as a get-into-orbit-free card.

@FEichinger If I weren't an achievement whore or if I were willing to cheat the achievements, I probably wouldn't have issues with it. It's boring, but then I'd have no reason to play so it wouldn't bother me. Expecting any human to accumulate a year's worth of hours in playtime is just asinine. I haven't heard this sequel news and it does not excite.

@FEichinger Get into orbit? Isn't it just Fuel+Engine+Timed Decouple+Adjustment burns to meet set waypoints, maybe helped by a little SAS?

Yeh, subassemblies and science is at the very core of what I'm looking for right now.

There's a couple of other things (such as proper mission control), but it's getting there.

@FEichinger Reasons is understandable - people gotta eat. I'm largely just wondering why they're bothering continuing with this game. I found it boring, but not ostensibly bad or broken. If they'd set more reasonable achievements, I wouldn't have even given it a second thought. If they are making it actually fun, okay, but if it's just a patch, I'd rather they not bother.

@fbueckert I think the decision on VC3 was because of poor sales of VC2 actually. VC2 was put on PSP because they said VC didn't sell well on PS3. VC2 was an awesome game too, but that one certainly did not sell that awesome as I recall. If the game is already made and there are even professional translation/localization teams willing to bring it over and offering their services at a discount, they could at least do a limited run or exclusive deals à la Operation Rainfall

Get an idea on sales through pre-orders or a poll or something and do an ROI analysis. They can make money on this.

@skovacs1 Sure I understand the reasons. Doesn't mean I have to like them. The sandbox is having some fundamental flaws, we were told there'd be a "stellar update", and what we get is that we're supposed to pay for it and the sandbox is abandoned.

Alternatively, I'd love to see all three in an HD collection. Re-release it bigger and better than ever on PS3 or PS4 or maybe even multi-plat. This could be a great way to refresh the series and bring in some publicity and push sales. Maybe they could even remove the lockout on the extra characters in VC2 from the anime/manga (this pissed me off).
