Should "the Service / the" or "he / she / it" to use as a personal pronoun?
I had always thought that only "he", "them" and "it" as a personal pronoun used:
The chair was not so cheap. He is very old.
However, I have found the following sentence in my German course book:
Where are my earrings? The sooner were still on the table.
But I would say "they were." What is the difference? Are both correct?
